Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I am going to tend to the herb I dried out on the porch and then catch up on the house work. I may go get a hair cut, its been a year, very year when its hot I just want to shave my head,, I have done good this year and talk myself off the wall several times,, but then I see a gal with a cute short cut and get the itch, hahahaha,,
BUT holy cow, I say! in this economy having to go even once a month to have someone trim it up for? $20 or so, I feel is , for me an indulgence, thats $240 a year not counting tax I could use toward ,,,, Ah! paint the inside of this house need paint so bad and I just didnt want to spent the money. A 5gal bucket of good ,
last long, paint is $219.00 and wow, how many gallons would it take to properly cover- not put on as thin as you can- do it right??
so no,, we have not painted the inside,,,, I'll just keep the house as clean as I can, and wait for us to win the lottery so we can paint, hahahaha but looking at world events,,,, I really dont think even that would be a wise use of funds.

I was shocked at the price of paint and it's not even good paint. Although the sales literature led me to believe otherwise.

Haircuts! torn between the hairdresser needs paid to seeming like an indulgence for me. I can't do long anymore. Often I cut my own - I'm pretty decent at it - go every 6-8 months for a shape up of any I may have gotten outta whack. .

My DD works at Lowe's, so she watches for paint markdowns & gets her discount. I've got several gal $30. Cut to $9....yes, for whenever. that's helpful. Plus if I need something, I have her check backroom damaged, low or discontinued stuff. Mgr will practically give it to her to move it. Savings for sure.

Prices just keep exploding! especially at feed stores.

@farmerjan : my upright not frost free freezer is from the 90's. They no longer make gaskets for it, so we have to velcro it closed and I put an alarm on it, to let me know if something is wrong. Its my 'goldmine" for meat.

i keep my hair in a buzz cut and let it get about an inch long between cuts. Mom keeps hers shorter at times. she decided to not cut it herself this past time and went to a barber who only charged her $10. so perhaps try that?

i do mine myself and have Mom check around the neck but since i don't ever see it i don't particularly care what it looks like. i just want to make sure i've not missed any clumps.

after last year's adventure in staining the house i can commiserate with you about how expensive the paint has gotten. for us it was about $60 a gallon but it is supposed to last 25-30 years so we'll see how it goes if i live here that long...

inside paint has mostly lasted at least that long in the lower wear areas. the kitchen and utility room could use some touch ups or a refresh. yet it doesn't make sense to do that until the roof leaks are finally take care of.

you mean like this one? it's a little beat up I loaded and unloaded it full several times with the bobcat but runs rock solid.

i noticed that and fixed it immediately. a mistake in my editing.

we just cleaned the dust and gunk out of the bottom of the fridge today. amazing how much dust those heat exchanger coils can grab ahold of. it is a poor design though that doesn't let you remove the drip tray to clean it out. an air compressor would have been really handy.
