We typically have 20-30 people helping. Although last year night 1 we had only 10. It is rough on the kids on school nights.Oh wow! That looks like a huge job - but definitely a labor of love! Hope you have some help.

Sound like a good day!I have 30-40 hens, plus roos. I use 2 coops.. Mine free range all day, pen at night. Not ideal but what's evolved....they sure keep bugs down!! Cats are half feral but, great mousers. They don't bother my chickens or chicks when some hatch...well, I have ninja momma hens! Plus I pen the families for a couple weeks.
Just got second cup. Nice and hot, very body warming.. While in the kitchen, I took a container of chili from freezer to thaw for supper. Took another of beef stew for DS, who says he'll be here. (not a fan of my chunky chili, or the touch of heat ). If he doesn't get here, I'll have beef stew tomorrow
Dentist at 1...it will be a slow day overall. With mid day apptmt, can't do much either side of it.

so do they go to the same coops every night or do they mix it up? I want to free range so bad but the amt of hawks are too much and besides the perimeter and around the house/barn our few acres are pretty open--which is great for gardens but not for hiding chickensI have 30-40 hens, plus roos.
