Coffee here and warm from oven cookies. . Had bought couple pkgs of ready to bake a couple months back. Turkey in oven, so double duty cooking.

It's sunny and 20 degrees \o/ time to shovel and chip the ice from the sidewalks. Watered the cattle again also \o/. Kind of nice on the east side of the barn but man at the wind, it makes my fingers hurt. Warming up some before ice chipping.

-3 here this morning with wind chill-14... Sun came out and it got up to 8 but sun is behind clouds now. Water in house froze, probably underneath in crawl space/basement... cracked open the faucets last night but did not want too much water flowing or could have burned out well pump. Ice on all the bushes and trees still from Thursday's cold rain/sleet. Going to be a cold miserable day... at least with gas I can cook some. Opened all the faucets wide in house since I will be here if they do thaw but don't expect that today. Have water for the chickens and essentials in some buckets. Might hit teens today, upper 20's for Christmas, above freezing on Monday?

Hopefully it'll unfreeze with no leaks. If I were close, I'd come help.

no cookies out, we've got a large box of chocolates we're working through but they're just not the same as a good cookie with hot chocolate. may have to get the graham crackers out. yes, that will do...

all is right in my world with that pressing matter decided.

Up at 4:30 and had 8 hrs of sleep! Another day of cold but the heavy winds are gone. Coffee is great this morning...stacks of insulated everything waiting for me and daylight to do chores in feels like 15. . Tomorrow back to above freezing thankful!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Hope everyone has a great day today and gets lots of wonderful useful things. Need to clean kitchen from yesterday's cooking before we had to go to another friends house for homemade pizzas before FH gets up so he can make a BBBIIIGGG pan (disposable tin pan that is) of lasagna (which I need to get the sauce reheating) to take to a friends house for Christmas dinner. We're also going to take cookies and some Brown Sugar Glazed Bacon Wrapped Lil Smokies, our friend is fixing ham and I don't know what else.
