Back to the grind today. It will be an inside cleaning day, top to bottom.
I to put the sprinkler on the apple tree. the apples will be ready in a few weeks.
I still have a bunch of dried herbs to tend to and need to harvest doe Thyme this week. The tomatoes are doing great! I hope to get a cold frame ready for them it was 52 over night. Our nights are cool, and I think to cool for tomatoes.
Today is Meatloaf Monday, and I will make up a pot of chicken soup for our lunches this week, bake off more sourdough tomorrow.

Waiting on updates. My parents have been at level 2 wildfire evacuation since yesterday afternoon. Mom has important stuff packed by the door. They've never been under one ever before, as in this is the first time ever for the townsite since it was built to house dam workers in the 50s. At least the river is close and easy access for the water planes. Mom said they were buzzing the houses for the drops.

Yes, us too, when we lived up the hill side above Rough & Ready Mill south of Cave Junction, there was a fire in the Kalmiopsis, I cant remember the name they gave it,, but they use our ponds for the helicopters, and we had the cars loaded to go, it was coming over the hill to the pastures.

Lunch Coffee Time!
I got all of the dusting done, wiped dog bark spit off the windows lolol,
all of the floors are vacuumed and swiffered ; second load of rugs are in the dryer and third in the washer; guest bathroom cleaned; the grandkids coloring/drawing tote is put back together and put away; watermelon wiped off the chess table and other places --
I am thinking after I clean our bathroom that will be plenty for today.

First time ever trying beef bacon 😋 one of our local processors cuts and packages it. I thought I would give it a try. I don't think it's cured or seasoned at all and I'm unsure what cut it comes from, the belly perhaps? IDK... I can say it's delicious though. there were 6 pieces (were) 😂

Yellow pine logs from yesterday, 4 bucked at 12' 6". should make good 2x6's.

They downgraded the level 3 area to level 2 as the fire moved east instead of west. So Mom's still in level 2. As long as the wind stays normal, they should be fine now. The fire is out in the scrub with sagebrush and russian olive trees. The outcroppings of basalt make getting fire trucks out there impossible. They keep dropping water from planes and copters.

It's not a big townsite. Half is in level 2 and the other half is in level 1.
