The general consensus of vets here is now that rotating wormers is NOT adviseable like it used to be, because the parasites will build up tolerances to all of the classes... use one wormer for as long as you get results, until you start having problems... That goes against the conventional "switch wormers" that we heard for years...:th:idunno

Keeping and breeding only the ones that seem to have a higher tolerance is of course the best way to go... but circumstances can negate that in certain times of the year, weather conditions etc...

We do not regularly worm any mature cattle here... they have to look like they need it, thinner, rough hair coat... something.... we do worm anything we buy with not knowing it's previous status... and we do usually worm calves once when weaned and brought to the barn for training to bunk feeding... but again, we do buy some in and do not know what might be coming into the farm... and the stress of weaning will sometimes cause a "bloom" of internal parasites that they might have not had a problem with prior to that....
And ones that are consistent problems... get shipped... no need to keep "hard keepers" .....

Wednesday, after DH & I finished hauled my 6 wheelbarrows of wood chips, and got my shower,, my son came by after he had gone to the dump and wanted to load his trailer with wood chips. so I put my work jeans back on and my boots and helped him load a LOT! of chips/shavings. DH had an appointment in town so he couldnt help. I needed another shower.

It was another hard work day yesterday. We helped our sun drop some dead trees on a neighbors property, we started at 8:45 and had a cord dropped, DS and DH cut, I hauled / rolled the rounds out of the forest to the 2 grandsons 9 & 13 , they stacked it. Then it all got loaded in sons trailer by 12:00.
OMGoodness one of the trees, the bottom 9 feet was so big around and wet/HEAVY I couldn't roll the last 2 rounds, Son had to.
Then I fed DS and 2 grandboys chicken potato black bean soup with lots of cheese on top, I made yesterday.

Today,, I have my eye appointment :wee
I will be so nice to have the right prescription. So I plan on perusing costco after.

Chick clutch #1 is 11 weeks old, #2 is 10 weeks and #3 is 7,

Its 48 out AGAIN!!! good for the apples but not for the tomatoes..

Have a great morning :caf

@Grandmas Porch there was a time, oh so many years ago that 98% of the time I only had afternoon coffee. 🤔 About 3, when I could use a nice jolt at work. mornings were hot tea. Now, way more coffee.

How'd your eye appointment go? When do you get your new specs? Did you order a matching neck chain for them¿?:hide😍. One day, the others will "appear".

It's hot outside! Home for a few days...and already have tomorrow scheduled with morning appointment and afternoon auction.:old:idunno I don't know how I find time to work!

About 6:30, I had a severe storm warning alert on my phone. For NC but continuing into my area. Dark, dark skies, wind whipped up out of nowhere...the goats were all calling, so big pressure changes obviously. They all headed to barns. I hustled out to milk! So far, no rains here -- night's not over.🥴

All the fixings and anything extra you like to add to your morning brew is right beside the coffee pot so fix a cup and enjoy the 67 temp outside while mentally making a to do list. I'm about to go on my 2nd cup.
I'm not sure who was more excited to have FH home last night - the dogs or myself seeing how they ALL wanted to be on the bed (it's ONLY a queen size BTW!!!!) and curled up next to him.

Good 3am morning, yep that's when I got up,
COFFEE'S HOT!
Lots to get done today to make up being gone yesterday.

@Mini Horses How'd your eye appointment go? It went fine, as I expected. I need cataract surgery in my left eye.
When do you get your new specs? the new glasses will be in I think she said in a week. I ordered glasses chains off amazon last week, one is wood beads, 3 are cheep bead ones ,the small ones like we use to make flower rings out of back in the early 70's. AND a leather red one for when I am working outside :old how was your weather over night?? I went to bed early.
