well, I hope you enjoyed the day away.

It was a good Thanksgiving. Brothers came with their families. Only one SIL couldn't because she had to work. Mom sent her food

I saw my fam -- just that, saw & spoke. DD invited me to eat but, I wasn't hungry at time and didn't go. No biggie. Cooked a ham here on Fri, took some to her then, some to DS. Quiet for everyone. I have no other relatives to meet up with.

We all had the entire week off.

Prepared a ham and cheese quiche for the wife this morning before enjoying my coffee. I will bake it closer to the time she gets stirring.

Cats are happy the doofus dog is gone. Lol. Running all over the house last night.

My hens have mites... What a pain in the neck! I need to do something quick due to a crammed next week and do not have time to babysit 24/7. Luckily no one is laying right now. I typically do a better job at watching out for these things but with DH and myself having a new health issue I have not done a good job. I did get the whole coop shop vac'ed out but never followed up with bug prevention.
It is suppose to be warmer a bit, Sun - Wed.
I have our DD and her family up from Portland for the day.
I am going to order this today- I am just going to order 2 boxes so I have extra on hand. @Hinotori so you used ? 3 drops per bird ??
I have 14 hens, should I get 4 boxes??


OR this one it costs less

I am going to go to Wilco or Lows after church Sunday and get stuff for the coop,
I'll give all the hens a through hinny washing before giving them the drops.

Only the Frontline brand for dogs is safe that I know. Dont know how the ingredients are on other brands. It's also a long egg withdrawal. Why I generally only use it on broodies now if they will have chicks soon. It's 1 drop per bantam and 2 for large fowl. One dispenser for big dogs should be enough or close to it to do all of them.

In summer you can wash birds with dish soap and kill most of the mites. Chickens don't mind the hair dryer. My silkies turn into it and start their preening.
