We had a nice foot of snow....

Now rain!!!

So far very little ice... just nasty slush.

After yesterday high of 48F and the heavy rains last night. The ground was horribly wet and muddy today. I went to go feed cattle and a couple spots grabbed my boots, you know the suckling sound a boot makes. I caught my foot trying to come out of the boot in several spots.

But the ground has frozen again, so I'm happy about that. Several days of thaw and refreeze at night will hopefully help the ground soak up a lot of this excess water. We still have ice on the north side of every building. It's best to try and not walk on it, it's slick.

I swept the chimney yesterday, i'm really happy I was smart enough to put the chimney on the south facing roof. If i would have put it on the north side, I wouldnt have been able to get on the roof to sweep it. Tank and brought in a load of firewood today, enough to run the wood stove two days. I wanted to bring in more but the cart sank in the mud, so did tank and so did I. Tank got a bath he was a happy mess. I'll get a couple more loads of firewood in tomorrow while the ground is frozen and it's easier.

We're getting straw tomorrow to take care of the mud going to the silkie pens. I cleaned out their coops today to make sure they are as dry as possible. Cleaned mudballs off toes. How can 2 pounds of bird get orange sized mudballs in just a couple days.

Freezing at night here but it's actually nice weather her.

Business Center today. Got prices for whole goat and sheep. It's tempting to get one and cut it up at the price. We like both.
