Thankfully, no snow or mud. It's 19 with feel like of 11 :th that's way, way, way too cold here. High 28-30. To add insult to injury, 3 more days of it. Shouldn't be bugs this spring! Hope I make it. All goats have been warned, do not kid this week!!!

I have 2 bottles warming for bottle kids, filling jugs with hot water....hammer to break ice. They have 2 heated tubs to use until. I'll put chunks of ice from breaking into heated ones to melt & refill. Waste not. Won't thaw on ground for 4 days, so save some hose drain& roll up time. 👍

Coffee is fresh, hot and tasty. Help yourself 😊

On my third cup of coffee. Got water boiling on the stove. I’ll suit up in a few minutes to go out and face the elements. I’ll bust ice in sheep’s water buckets, then come in for boiling water to give them a drink. There is snow on the ground but not much. It doesn’t cover the grass. Houston is covered with snow and ice and completely shut down. We just don’t deal well with snow and ice storms. The good news is Thursday and Friday high are 51F. There won’t be any snow or ice left after that.

One of these days when I have a REAL barn with WATER and ELECTRICITY, I will have this miraculous power and heated water of which you speak.

Lowes had 20 some Christmas trees leftover that nobody would take, so a friend who works there let us know. Yes please and thank you very much. I put pickets in and made walls out of then in an L shape in front of our big three sided shelter. Made another wall on the far side so there’s a big pathway. Then tarped from the roof over the L so it’s now an extra wind break and kinda shelter. Put a bucket of water in a tire to see if it will insulate it and need to be broken less. Got both 5 gal chicken wayterers in the coop with the light so they’ll hopefully stay above freezing. Bedding and hay everywhere. Used Christmas trees in front of the smaller shelters too so now they all have a half door up front. The 8x8 has some wide gaps in the boards so I stacked up some almost trash scraps (an old plastic shed door and some metal sheeting) so it’s looking very junky but it’s not like they care. Bracing and waiting.

Near zero when I went out to get the mail and fill the bird feeders after being done with work.

Must have had a dozen cardinals at the one feeder today, and two woodpeckers at another
I tried to do a good deed for the birds this morning too. While I was outside feeding the quail during the snowfall I tossed some feed out on the ground/snow for the little birds. Five minutes later it was covered with more snow. I've got a lot to learn about the white stuff, lol!

Vote of hands✋️ How many of you want to see me ruin a perfectly good potato plant and a perfectly good tomato plant in the name of grafting?

I'll call it a pomater. Pomato sound to posh and besides autocorrect doesn't like it.
