Okay, got bit of things done this morning, including getting 30 pounds of chicken.
We visited my son and DIL this afternoon. Psyching myself to push hard tomorrow

good luck, be careful in the morning when starting because that is when you can make a stiff disc decide to have issues...

pace yourself. :)

FB ordered some thorn-less black berries, arapaho & ouachita. They are soaking in water to plant tomorrow. It's OK though I have a black berry thicket on the bank behind the pond, they are thorned and wild. My daughter in law and I pick them, FB makes jelly and jam out them. But we can't ever pick them all because, you can't get to them all.

I like the flavor of the thornless. Mine have nice big berries, too.

The wild ones vary from one season to the next. I think it has to do with the amount of rainfall. Seems like the more rain the bigger and tastier berries. But I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the amount of sunlight and heat also. Three seasons ago was great, last year not so much. This year might be good because it's been very wet.

I sometimes miss raspberries, when we lived up north they grew wild just like blackberries do here in the south. I remember picking them off the sides of rails to trails and making cobbler out of them, so good :drool @FarmerJamie probably has wild raspberries around by him to pick when ripe.

I don't think we have long enough deep cold for raspberries grow well here. I should investigate some of the newer raspberry varieties.

Only raspberry I've had good luck with here is the the thornless. It escaped the pot (they came true from seed) and is very slowly spreading. I've been getting stuff out of it's way. 2x6 row along the back of the broody coop now.

Light frost this morning...not thrilled but 🤷

Just loading with coffee before I venture out to feed & check livestock.
