Lovin' The Homestead
So yesterday it was gloomy overcast weather which most people would sit inside and go bleh over. Not me! Apparantly it was motivation weather!
I gutted and baked squash, cooked rice, boiled hotdogs, boiled eggs and made egg salad, gave some old rice to the meal worms and the chickens, gave the guts minus the seeds to the chickens, gave the squash rinds to the chickens, and used the water from the eggs on the compost pile.
Today we are going pumpkin picking and maze traveling! yay! CJ actually took the day off so we could spend it together! How's that for cool?
Yesterday at work a coworker gave me a large white rubber egg that she had laying around her house. so, when I came home last night I stuck it in the fridge with the other eggs, cause thats what you do with eggs! My lovely SO, CJ, was making eggs, he picks this one up, turns to me and says "There's something wrong with this egg, its empty!" I walked up, took it from him, and dropped it and said "Oops!" and start laughing. He bends down and picks it up and says "Did you drop that on purpose?" so I take it from him and squeeze it to show him its not real. It was a hoot watching his face change as it finally hit him that it wasn't real!
Ah, there are just some things in life worth going through just for those moments
"Empty egg!"
