Lol, yes he does. I've told him this. And others have mentioned it on the jam thread he posted  and if I tell him someone posted he goes "oh boy oh boy what they say what they say?!?!?!?! :weee :clap :clap :clap " oy.

So, in the apparantly ongoing saga of Goodwill gone weird I got a second email, this one from a different person:

Dear Mr. Ryan,

We are so sincerely saddened and disappointed with what you experienced the other day in one of our stores. Thank you for bringing this behavior to our attention. We will make this known to the Golden store manager, the district manager and our vice president of retail operations so that they can address this with staff to ensure that it never happens again.

We do take pride in our values and work every day to try to create a more inclusive community. We hope that all of our employees embody these values, but we have obviously fallen short.

It is hard to know what there is to say to make you feel any better about your experience. But we hope that you can rest assured that we are addressing the problem. Thank you, again, for contacting us and thank you for supporting Goodwill.

Best,

Its raining out. has been since sometime during the night. and i've discovered that the awesome weather proofing job i did on the coop is not so awesome after all. the side i was worried about the most is still leaking and wet. *sigh* so, now in addition to everything else I need to wait for a non wet day and get up there and redo it. :tongue :tongue

Ouch and OUCH!!!

Lots of yellow jackets around this year.

As for the other...sheesh. Hopefully with time you will see less and less of that nonsense. It takes a while for the older generations to get a clue.

Matthew- I'm offended when people use the word gay as an insult too, and have spoken up about it lots of times. Some people need to realize they are being offensive when they run their mouth.

So what is the correct term to apply to the male homosexual behavior? I would like to use the term they prefer. (BTW in the past I was very friendly with a pair of male partners, I met them in a business setting, they ran a store together and I assumed they were business partners, not life or sexual partners. It wasnt until I was invited to their home for a party where they had some fine homoerotic art on display that I tumbled as to what they were. They referred to their unattached guests that were making homosexual displays as flaming gays while the pairs in stable relationships were called partners. When I was introduced to other guests it would often be mentioned that I was straight. This did not break up my friendship with them, in a matter of a few years AIDS took them both and I went to their funerals and wakes
I find the term breeders to be in the same class as honky, that is a term that is meant to be an insult.

Well you have people using the work GAY when they mean LAME or STUPID. Then the term gets used for anything that might be traditionally considered feminine, wimpy or otherwise less than macho.

Now if someone had a piece of homoerotic art on their mantle, I would come out and call it gay! :gig

If someone gave hubby flowers, I would not call him gay for liking them.

Now I do call him a "girl" when he acts squeemish....like when I mention eating one of the ducks. I guess I should stop that. I really am denigrating my own gender on that. I'll just go back to calling him a city kid when he does it next time :D

I agree GD, it works both ways. Many gay/bi couples that have kids not only from adoption but also donors, surrogates, and past relationships.

However when someone refers to it as 'too gay' to have on their Facebook page, yes they usually mean it in a degrading and negative way. When someone says 'That's so gay!' they rarely mean it to boost someone's confidence.
And what does that even mean? What does a plant, color, item, etc. etc. even have to DO with gender or sexuality? NOTHING. Which is why using it as an insult is not only offensive, but it also doesn't even make any logical sense.
But I also know for a fact that being ostracized by society and culture, hated and looked down upon by a majority, etc. it is often hard not to repay that.

But you know, the best revenge to any wrong-doing is to try to live your life happy, healthy, and to it's fullest. I think everyone strives for that, really.

Calling something gay because they don't like it is what offends me. I have no problem with the other ways of using the word.
I just call the activity sex- no matter if it's hetero or gay people doing it.
