My Barred Rock keeps going broody on me. I wish I could stick some little babies under her. Chicks are so cute! I am hoping someday (if she lives that long, she's already 3) to have a rooster and have some baby BR's. I would love some Zoii babies. You must post pictures! :D

The canning looks wonderful. Just wait until you need to build a pantry or convert a room to hold all that stuff. That will be a project on the list for sure.

Don't forget to take off those rings and wipe the threads of the jars with a clean wet cloth. Let them dry. Then if you want you can put the rings back on. But it's not necessary.

The rewards of canning will be much loved in the days of old man winter!!! Having food that you put up, and even grew, is such a self rewarding to present for a meal to your family or friends. Congrats...

Something to mention, no expert here, others may know better than me, but those quart jars that are half way filled should be put in the fridge and used soon, as the head space may allow it to spoil much sooner than you expect. My rule of thumb has always been not to store products that didn't have the correct amount of head space. But see that might just be me, but it is worth looking into.
