Coturnix do fine outside. When it gets below 20 or so I do put a light out for a little heat. Mainly to keep their water from freezing. If you keep them out of the wind and give them fresh hay and a place to snuggle down they are just fine outdoors.

I will ask him if he wants a girl. I can't see why he wouldn't since he plans on doing more hatching and breeding.

I hate being sick! I started getting sick sunday while at work, closed the store with a fever and came home. Luckily I am hooked up with a man who has access to all sorts of homeopathic sickness helpers :) By time I woke up Monday morning my fever broke so I was slightly less sick. But, I was still weaker than a baby all day, only went out once, and that left me so weak it I barely crawled back into bed. Slept pretty much all day, through the snow storm. By yesterday evening I just had a hella sore throat, headache, and runny/stuffy nose. Feeling soo much better today, but still have the head, throat and nose thing. Thankfully I'll be able to go to work tomorrow. I had to call in sick yesterday.

On the wierd front, I pulled 9 eggs out of the coop yesterday. I don't know if a couple were from the day before, or if they decided to lay nine eggs when before its been 6-7 but hey, I'm happy either way :) It will be interesting to see what they give us today!

Linda, have you heard anything from the button quail man on possibly taking our zippy? :)

FF, the best part about that haul, was that we finally got an egg from Andi, our Andalusian :)

Best wishes to all of you who are in the path of the wonder storm system(s?) and hoping ya'll are safe!

Well we are all safe and sound here, but the storm is something else!

Just rest, I hope you feel better really soon.
