I can see where it appears the water container sits...amongst all the bare/poopy ground. Is that right??? WOW they have some straight pipes. So you keep track of how long to regrow...and let us know. That's something there. I'm used to free range not whatcha got there.

I figure to use the poop to my advantage. Chicken poop ought to make the grass grow. LOL

They are eating more. They are drinking more. They are pooping more. Dirty Birdies.

Now they are eating the big bucket of FF in the morning, the small one around noon to 3, and I give them 2 coffee cans of dry feed in the evening. As of yesterday, 5 gallons of water lasts 2 days. Still moving the tractor every day. They are growing.

At the end of the month, it will be almost 2 months. They'd better pack it on in the next 2 weeks, I'm ready for them to be gone. Still a LOT of work to be done. If I have to keep them another week or two past that, I will. I like them to get BIG

Dirty birdies are growing! I figure maybe 2 more weeks. Moving tractor twice a day, may have to water twice a day in the next day or two. Lots of poop!

They actually eat some of the grass when I move the tractor, but they soon cover it up.

Where I have over seeded the poop pads with giant Bermuda is working! I have tiny grass coming up! There is humus under the poop from the rye grass and clover, it soaks up water and holds moisture. I’m waiting to see if the giant Bermuda I planted, watered and coddled last year, comes up.

The heck of it is that we are not that crazy over the CCX. They have some good meaty wings, the leg quarters aren't bad, the breast is ok for a fast meal stir fry. but overall, a spring layer breed rooster is better eating. Our DD and family like it, so we supply them with all they want.
