Very good question @tortise. What will be the Covid rush to buy this fall? Maybe cozy lounge wear for hanging around the house while working from home? Firewood? OTC drugs? Certainly Kleenex will be a hot item.
I have also read that if you test positive, in some areas every member of your household is assumed to have covid also, Without Testing. I have also read that if you get tested a second or third time (which might happen if you are hospitalized) your positive, as well as the assumed positives of your (not sick) family members, are counted as new cases.
I do not have proof of this myself; it is something I have read from others who claim to know this for fact.
Thank you @Britesea; and to Ron Paul for a breath of common sense to come out. Don't forget, he is a doctor also so not exactly an uneducated person just spouting off. Some reasoning in this whole thing. He is right though, this was such a horrible thing with the daily death number reaching epic proportions, and it WAS horrible that people did die from it, but now it is like the daily "new cases" has taken on the same connotation of daily death toll..... when not only the testing numbers have increased 5 and 10 fold, and the death rate is falling as is the PERCENTAGE of deaths falling even faster; but the non-symptomatic cases are way up and so it has to mean that it is either mutating so as to not cause such severe symptoms and/or the younger ones have much greater ability to fight it off; and that there have got to be more people with a greater immunity even if it only lasts for a few months. That will slow down and stop the infection rate if people are able to fight it off for only those few months. Same idea of a cold or the flu..... hopefully you will have more ability to fight it off if you have gotten over a previous bout of it; and your body will launch a response if re-exposed.
My former fiance' died and they attributed it to covid-19.... so it is not that I am unfeeling towards the losses....
I don't know if I posted it here or on BYH..... I was in the bank and the woman there said that a friends' mother was tested 6 weeks ago, NO SYMPTOMS, maybe it was because she was required by her job.... anyway, she tested positive.... has had 4 tests since, all are still positive, can't work, can't go anywhere, can't do anything.... and still no symptoms..... so who is to say she is spreading it too..... since it is supposed to be infective for 14 days ?????? No one else in her family has tested positive for it.... maybe it is really anti-bodies that are making it test positive.... but it has stopped her life, and her families life and they can't tell her anything other than it is still positive....
And each time she tests positive, it is listed as a NEW POSITIVE CASE..... BS!!!!!
