"As assistant director for the Master’s in Applied Economics program at Hopkins, Briand is neither a medical professional nor a disease researcher. At her talk, she herself stated that more research and data are needed to understand the effects of COVID-19 in the U.S."

science is at times messy.
FB, it does not take a medical professional, nor a disease researcher to use the DATA COMPILED BY THE CDC, CRUNCH THAT DATA, AND PRESENT THAT DATA IN AN EASY TO FOLLOW FORMAT. You can argue your position, and I will argue my position, neither one of us will change the mind of the other. Meanwhile, in England, they are seeking a firm to provide insurance for the many expected law suits for injury and death caused by this corona virus vaccine. To date, no one is willing to provide that insurance. Not an issue here in USA. Because we peasants are not allowed to sue for vaccination injury. I will take my chances with the virus, especially after reading the many reports FROM MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE WORKING THE FRONT LINES, AND THE DISEASE RESEARCHERS WHO ARE HOLDING CORONA VIRUS UP TO THE LIGHT OF DAY, AND COMPARING IT TO THE MANY OTHER DISEASES THAT HAVE PLAGUED MANKIND SINCE THE FALL. No vaccination for me. And, if it is required to buy or sell, which is the intended long term purpose of it, (call it conspiracy if you want to.... but when it comes to pass, is it still conspiracy?) I will still not submit to it. Let's see what the death and injury rate is from this vaccine.

while there may be some protection from one vaccine for a virus in the same family of viruses i would not count on that being very great and those who actually know what they are doing in the field will certainly encourage those who are the most risk of being harmed to get protected as well as they can be.

as to the various continue conspiracy theories, hahaha, good laughs. i don't particularly like some of what Bill Gates does with the foundation money, but it is his money (and perhaps WB has put some money in there too by now, i dunno). anyways, nope, i don't buy any of that conspiracy stuff about that as if it were going on it would be detectable by others. as of yet, no credible reports. so, back up your claims with credible reports. i don't see any.

Condescending, much... for anyone who chooses to disagree???

I also get a good laugh out of the conspiracy theories. That statement is NOT directed at any PERSON. So please don't turn this into a personal attack.

sure. there is something called discernment. not wasting time on chasing down rabbit holes that are fruitless.

the amount of BS that people pick up on and spread around after a while gives a pattern of behavior for certain people so that if they come along again later and say they've found this new thing, well, i'm for one going to be skeptical until i see more credible reports.

i am able to admit if i've been wrong, but i'm not at that point there with this one report.

when the data is not well characterised or consistently collected then it leaves a lot of room for interpretation. someone not familiar with the issues underlying that data may be making mistakes obvious to people who do this sort of thing all the time. i know who i'll listen to in that case.

i'll also be very much in favor of improving data collection standards and fixing the issues so that in the future we have better data.

My vaccine concern is that there was an article about the vaccines only protecting the person who got it from symptoms but making them asymptomatic carriers.

Like how the Mareks disease vaccine works in chickens. You keep vaccinated away from unvaccinated in the susceptible breeds. I raise silkies which are very susceptible. Ameraucana are resistant to the disease. I vaccinate silkies at hatch so I don't have them all start being paralyzed and dying in 9 months.

I haven't seen anything else on that for covid vaccines so it's a wait and see.

In Australia, People are already not allowed to work in certain sectors without annual flu vaccination. Family members can be denied access to care spaces without proof of vaccination. Children can not be enrolled in daycare or public schools without proof of vaccination. There is a "no vax, no pay" policy for families on welfare. There is reason to believe this will expand to include covid vaccination. I have a cruise booked for next year and it is starting to look like they will not let people without vaccination travel. Testing will be mandatory.

Yet, I loved lockdown, closing the borders worked and I would wear a mask if it was required here (its not). The public vaccine debate is political, not protective. Forcing vaccination through restricting access to services can and DOES happen outside of the USA. Don't be fooled.

No need to show it to him, as he is practicing his "discernment" on such things.... ;)
