I had a good rant to post but I'm so tired I forgot what it was.

It has a been a hard week.

Storm cleanup hiking the trails on snow and ice. Five miles Thursday and 7 miles Friday.

Storm cleanup today helping out in Bardwell, KY. Boy did they get hit hard. If you folks haven't been through any kind of disaster, natural or man made, you really can't comprehend it and ought not to question the recovery efforts or the pre-disaster mitigation.

I don't really have a community that I identify with.

I traveled over 1 1/2 hours to help a community that needed help. I can't emphasize enough, this storm was bad. Over 20 deaths in Kentucky are directly related to the storm. Kentucky got hit the hardest but also Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and probably Tennessee and Indiana. There are still over 100,000 people in the storm area without electricity. I saw power poles that were snapped. Many many trees with the tops and branches broken out. You could see where the highways were impassable until the fallen trees were cleared.

Folks, this was bad. You need to figure out what disasters could hit your area and prepare. You need to prepare for job loss.

I'm not one for the end of the world and stock up guns and ammo to protect your food but you do need to be prepared.
