Just want to give everyone a quick update.

2 weeks to go for the garden tour that my gardens are on and we get HAIL!! Yesterday, for about 20 minutes it hailed 1/2" to 1" hail stones. Never in my life have I ever seen anything like it. I was the only garden on the tour to get hit.

Most of the leaves of tender plants have holes or are shredded. I am now in damage control mode.

The front garden is under control somewhat.

Four more to go.....

This is so frustrating.

On another note. I got a call yesterday asking if I would put my soap in an upcoming arts and craft show. It is a local show that has been going on for 30 years. I have soap made but I am unsure about selling it at a show. Any advise??

We should be getting hail most nights by now. Odd that we aren't. I guess it's only early August, so we'll still get our hail and tornados.

Today DH and I decide to take a trip to the Big City. It is supposed to be a stock up run. Half way there we get off the highway to get gas. We stop at the stop sign at the bottom of the ramp. DH is about to pull out when "Clunk!" the car doesn't move. We jump out, and push it effortlessly off the road, to a safe spot. DH being the grease monkey he is figures out it is the drivers side CV joint/axle. The car won't move. No warning, nothing. DH call his friend with a trailer. After 2.5 hours, great SHTF conversation, plans made and then the question of the backhoe comes up. What to do with is? Fix it or sell it and use the money for preparedness.

Dh's friend shows up. We stop at the auto parts store, they have the part in stock, new not rebuilt. Price can't be beat. We get home and I start dinner. No more than a half hour later there is a knock on the door and a man I never saw before is standing there. "Hi, I was wondering if you would consider selling that tractor?" and he points to the backhoe.....................

Dh is outside with him right now.

I tell ya, things happen for a reason. :D
