I'd thought about what a great raised bed frame it could be, too, dl! But...yep, but...it was so big in circumfrance that it would have worked great if it was cut in half---length-wise, so I opted out on that suggestion, just to make "our" lives easier. ;) As it was, I had to keep mistreating the rocks and using them to shore the danged thing in place to keep it from roling downhill on doc every few cuts that he made as he worked it into sections. ;)

There was no way to move it from this aea without cutting it down to firewood size, as much as I disliked it but we'll eat many, many delicious meals from over it. ;)

Thought about the parking lot situation, too but we don't get that many visitors, if any and to would have been a bear to move to an area we'd considered for a parking lot...which would have entailed cutting even more trees down and then buying gravel for that section. So, firewood it is. ;)

After hearing several folks in the county complaining about rattlers and copperheads, it's best that she's firewood in the long run. Been so dry here that everything is moving in too close for comfort in the hunt for moisture. :/

Great minds think alike. Or similar-ly twisted minds at least.
We need some rain here too. Stay safe up there- stomp around good when you're going into the brush.

I like GMTA but probably resemble the twisted even more! :gig

Staying out of the woods, as much as possible right now...unless I'm armed with the machete, a loooong walking stick and the Glock. That's bound to be a scary picture! :gig To know me is to love me! :D

We are under a burn ban at this time so I'm glad I did what burning I could, when I did.

Got doc's laptop at my disposal so I'll probably do some "blast from the past" pix later today as it's too hot to do much more than make sure the animals are cared for and watering seedling. :/

You're not scary! Just twisted. :plbb
Just keep stomping or thumping with a walking stick whenever you need to do stuff. Those snakes don't wanna see us humans. I can walk as quiet as anybody, but I don't want to surprise a snake and get bit for it.

I don't know if we have a burn ban, but I'm in town so we really don't anyway.

Just a quick update to let ya's know that all is well...just been super-busy, but can't tell it to look at the place. :idunno

Finally got a bit of much needed rain over the past two days, which is a huge relief. It was only half an inch but it sure beat the usual 100 raindrops that we were getting on occassion! It was perfect timing, too, as the blackberries are just starting to ripen here and the brambles are loaded!!!

We're actually having a real cool spell...it just now hit 70F and it's a much belcome break from the sweltering summer temps we've been dealing with this spring! :bow

Outta here for now to get some more plants in the garden!

Oooooh, almost forgot...third time was a charm with the pepper and eggplannt seeds...I've got seedlings!!! :celebrate

I hear ya, BB! :hugs

102 on Monday...70 today and I'm kinda chilled myself. The sun just popped back out so it feels nice, but it's windy and I'm sporting a light jacket/windbreaker when it's cloudy. :D

Enjoy the cool weather while ya' got it, Deb! :hugs It doesn't look like it's gonna last long here but I'll take what I can get! ;)

Well, I went back out to work in the garden and got side-tracked by the blackberries and managed to get about a quart picked! :celebrate There's still a lot more but we'll get them tomorrow, before going to mom's. I needed to be a foot taller and I have just the person for the job, but he wasn't here! ;) When I told doc about the bb pickin' plans for tomorrow he wasn't happy and it kinda pissed me off so I dropped the subject.

We went out and sat by the fire and the conversation rolled around to the blackberries again and I just had to get tickled...he thought we were going to the patch back in the woods and he's a chigger magnet! I got to giggle at the look on his face when he realized I meant the patch here in the clearing! :gig I'm hoping we'll be able to do a 5 gallon batch of blackberry wine this year, even if it means we have to buy some. We'll store them in mom's freezer until we have enough. ;)

Got to heaar and see our Chuck's will widow while we were out at the fire pit! The moon had the clouds lit up just enough to watch it fly from one of the trees, snatch a bug (I'm guessing) and fly back to the tree. Awesomeness!!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend! :hugs

We don't really have any of the night jars around here. I'm pretty sure I saw one at the beginning of May, but I only got a glimpse of it, so I couldn't be sure. But, the body shape and beak looked right.
