I'm pretty sure I had a TIA (a.k.a. mini-stroke) today. I get cerebral hypoperfusion frequently, usually daily. But this was way more intense and scary. Plus I was bradycardic for hours during this - pulse in low 40's. Lasted most of the day. I seem to be back to my current normal now. My kids were extra good. thank goodness!
Bay (service dog in training) helped me get around when I couldn't walk properly. It was so strange. I'm used to losing some control over my legs - my left leg tends to give out and hyperextend my knee. But this was different. Like complete incoordination and every joint going a different direction. Oddest experience ever. I'm glad Bay was around! Glad my kids were helpful.
One of DH's employees had her own family emergency about the same time - her daughter was injured in a car wreck! so he was short staffed and not able to come home.
Needless to say, I didn't get much done today. I have a pretty good excuse today though! I'm thankful it wasn't worse! I will be taking it easy physically the next couple days anyway.
Bay is lovely. Wonderful attentive expression in her face. You will be glad she is large, it will help. Sadly you seem to be facing several health challenges at an increased level of late. I commend you for you efforts to continue on but, do take some rests. It may help to let your systems have a little less activity than you like.
Will DS2 still take a nap? (Yeah, right!) Maybe you could too.
That's what I was thinking.
I don't like doctors, but my PCP is good, so I went in. The proper word is ischemic event rather than TIA because there's no reason to suspect it was caused by a clot. So that's good, no new problems. He thinks it's time for me to see a specialist. I was shocked by my low level of functioning and I barely told him anything. So that's both validating and concerning. Maybe I'll just perceive it as a compliment on my coping skills?
My BFF and I trained our service dogs in training today. They bother did well. They're both at about the same point in training, but have very different temperaments and will train for different tasks. It fun to watch them progress. Bay is settling in - she wagged her tail today.
Yay glad she's settling in! Um... Shouldn't you probably have been referred to a specialist a LOOOONG time ago? That's scary, regardless of whatever the reason may be. Happy to hear you're feeling a bit better.
she is beautiful. I love her. I am so happy for you that you got her, she will be a great help to you. Seeing a specialist is a very good idea, glad that you are getting that done.
