I'm back to adulting today. I still haven't worked on the document due tomorrow. 😣 oh well, at this point they'll get it when they get it. I had reasons for saying I need to be done by end of March and couldn't take the last contract. Boss is still trying to get me to take the last contract. I told her I can't start it until mid-August. ... she wants it done by August. I told her back in January so... :hu I won't be working with this company/boss again, I can tell you that right now.

Some days we just need to REST! I worked outside all day yesterday, in high heat....I went to bed at 9 pm!! Exhausted. Felt good to do, after waking at 6 today. 😊. Yep, sleep and resting are both good for our bodies. Embrace it.

for sure, i zonked out at 10pm last night, dead to the world until the rains woke me up this morning. slept through lightning and thunder for a few hours. i'm kinda glad that as i've become older i'm finally able to sleep through some things as i have always been a pretty light sleeper. many times i bounce off falling asleep as i twitch and then it wakes me up enough that i won't get back to sleep then. not last night. rolled over and was out like a light. :)

My kids and dogs woke me up a few times last night, so I slept in. 😁 I almost feel like myself.

I still have a lingering cold. ...amazing how I just had a sore throat for a couple hours when my family had COVID (I was eating healthy and taking my meds), but I can't kick this cold (broke my habits, eating junk, missing meds).

Busy day planned, but I'm not sure what I'll be able to do due to heat.

it is rare that i can sleep in these days. as much as i'd like to, just can't. too much to get done out there while it is cool enough. i didn't sleep in today either, but i did take the day pretty much off. i did weed a few moments. i did walk through the gardens. i did pick one pea shoot and enjoy eating it. i saw some flower buds forming on some bean plants. :)

i hope you get everything done today that needs to get done and the rest of it can go hang until some other day. :) when you're sick is not a time to mess about when it is also really hot outside. pace yourself...

I able to do the outdoor tasks I was worried about - walking/training dogs outside at the shelter, then running errands at >90 degrees F and full sun. I used my handicap parking permit. I had my kids load stuff into the car while I waited in the store.

I am indoors now. I set my AC set to 80 degrees to give me a break from the heat without interfering with heat acclimation. I finally have time to work on work.

I've been working on details for showing sheep at the county fair. DS15 isn't done training, so I hope he pulls through.

We plan to show a slick-sheared ewe (Ava) and her wether lamb (Lamburger) - also slick sheared. Momma is 1/2 shropshire and her lamb is BIG. We also plan to show a ewe (Apple) with 30 days of wool and her ewe lamb (Apple Sauce) in 30 days of wool. Momma is 1/2 merino (and her lamb is small).

I have a mini horse halter that will work for one ewe and a goat halter that will work for the other. :gig Can you tell I'm not motivated to buy anything that's not necessary? It's already an expensive activity. 🤐 I just ordered a small goat halter for lambs, 100% merino wool t-shirt for DS15 to show in (one class requires half of their clothes to be made of wool), a lead rope, and 2 lamb tubes. I'm thankful I had a lamb tube on hand that fits Apple. We sheared her yesterday and the tube will prevent her from getting sunburned over the next couple of days.

We survived the meeting for showing livestock at the fair. Paperwork is turned in! All the various paperwork was stressing me out.

DS15 had more success training lambs today. They're walking on a lead... most of the time. :gig We need to shear Apple's ewe lamb today (uggh!)

The next 2 weeks are my busiest weeks for dog training. I love it! I'm doing better with heat tolerance and physical fitness than usual (although both leave a lot to be desired...) I'm training about 20 hours per week now. none of that is training my own dogs :gig

But first, today, I need to finish a document and send it to my boss. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
