Guys I'm thinking of worming my animals and treating them for mite prevention with de. I use manure in the garden. Is de safe for the garden microorganisms?

DE can help with mite prevention, but many people say it does NOT work as dewormer. Once it's passed through the animals' digestive tracks, I doubt it will pose any harm to your garden. It will have taken quite a beating by then!

It doesn't work as dewormer. It doesn't work in a moist environment (like inside an animal) It is safe and effective to manage pests in grain (before feeding). It's recommended on the surface for managing garden pests, I'm assuming it's not proportionately enough compared to the soil to make much a difference - and again, it's ineffective in moist environments like soil.

I use it liberally in the barn to keep flies down and prevent a reinfestation of chicken mites. I don't have any evidence to say how it does or does not affect my garden. I have never given it a thought before seeing this post. hmmmm....

Well I powdered all the birds with d's, cleaned out the coop and nest boxes and powdered all that stuff too and then I spread some around the run. I put a little bit in the feed as well. Gonna grease up the chickens legs and feet in the morning to prevent leg mites

DE is silica and is harmless to your garden. Silica is one of the essential building blocks for strong plants.
