OK, I'll tell you what happened to her.

It's getting dark out. I just couldn't figure out what had happened to her. And, I was fearing the worst, maybe a dog got her, or maybe a hawk. I'm looking for any sign of her, or her remains and thinking I'm really going to have to see about getting some more hens. I finally found her.

RU has an old rabbit cage that we need to finish taking apart. One end is sitting on the ground, and has no legs. The other legs are still attached, but not the way they should be. It makes it so the one side is about a foot off the ground. It was under this cage that I found her. The stinker had been laying her eggs under there, and is now sitting on about 2 dozen eggs! And, she's funny about it. When I feed the horses, she'll come out, run around and get anything the horses drop. Then, she runs around for a couple of minutes-don't know if she thinks she fooling anyone as to where her nest is. Then a few minutes later, you check on her, and she's back on her eggs! I told my husband tonight that we have to get something secure made w/in 2 weeks. I'm hoping I get at least a few eggs hatching from this!

I'll take the hugs anyway. :hugs

It's still too hot out. I never did make it back to the farm last night. I was getting ready to go when hubby decided he wanted to go out to dinner. So, we split a prime rib dinner. It cost $14.95, and we had leftovers. I had it for breakfast and dinner tonight, and I know hubby ate a bunch of it. If I lived by myself, one of them would probably give me meat for a week!

It's still too hot out. We did another pony party today. This was a repeat customer. We did one for her 2 years ago. When we did it then, they had a row of small trees that we stayed by for the shade. Well, most of the trees have died. So, we had a very small area w/good shade. We stayed in the shade as much as possible. We weren't sure if we'd get the whole hour in, but there was a small breeze. That made it just cool enough to do it.

Basically, I got nothing done today. It was just too hot. Next week, I'm hoping to get a bit done at the farm. I keep thinking of how nice it will be when I'm done working. Is that wrong of me?
