I'm taking a bit of a break. I got the maple tree moved and in the ground. There were a few suckers at the base of the tree. They had taken the brunt of the damage from the chain. And since I didn't want them anyway, I pruned them off. I have a 2 ft pool w/the blow up top that I haven't gotten down yet. (Next year, if I can find a cover for it, it won't come down!) So, I started to drain that, and used some of the water to water the tree.

Then, I started to work in the garden. I now have the fence posts for one side in, and the next side pretty much marked out. One side, I don't need to do anything to. Our house is the last house on a dead-end street, and we put up a chain link fence when the kids were little. My garden is up against that fence, so I don't need to do that side. I don't have enough posts since I'm making the garden bigger than I had 1st planned. I'm just using 2x4s for the posts, but am thinking of taking the corner one out and putting up a 4x4 instead. I'm not going to put the fence up though. I think I'll wait until the ground freezes. That way, I don't have to worry about possibly pulling the post and making them crooked. I may need to do a bit more work to them to make sure they're straight-I can't find a level and just may need to go to Harbor Freight to get a cheapy. I also dug up part of the new section and pulled some more mint out.

I need to move my truck so I can unload the wood. I came in for my keys, and decided to take a break. I think once I have the wood out, I'm going to run to the farm and give Stormy his second feeding. Plus, I need to go to the feed store and get Misty's feed. Then, I'll come home and work in the garden some more.

I honestly don't know. And, if my hubby works late (like he did yesterday), I keep going until he comes home. I now have more of the garden cleared out. The part that I'm working on is the hardest part-my asparagus bed. There's still mint coming up, plus there are some weeds. Once I get this section done, the rest is easy, there's very few weeds, just dead plants. I need to get it done. I figure I have at the most another 2 weeks b4 it gets too cold. Last year I couldn't have done all this, we had an early snow. And next year shouldn't be as hard since I won't have to do the fence again.

I also got enough wood split to fill my wood holder in the basement, as well as put some that's still too green to burn in the wood shed. I did that w/the light on.

Then I came in, made dinner (chili), unloaded and reloaded the dish washer, washed a load of clothes, and vacuumed part of the house. My hubby got home around 7:00 pm, so I stopped. Otherwise, I would have folded more laundry. He's going to work today, so as soon as he leaves, I'll work on folding laundry. Then, I 'm going to the nature center for a bird walk, trim a tree for wildlife, going to run some errands, go clean stalls, feed Stormy and my chickens, and come home and make some desserts for a Christmas party I'm going to tonight. If I have time, I'll work some more in my garden. Tomorrow, I'll take it easy.

I was too beat last night to post this. Tried to read all the new posts when I got home, but couldn't keep my eyes opened long enough so I just went to bed.

My hubby had to work yesterday. I figured he'd be getting up at the normal time, so I figured I'd get a lot done after he left b4 I left for my bird walk. We don't sleep in the same room. He snores too much, but won't go to the doctor and get checked out. Plus, I like a cool room w/a lot of blankets, he likes a hot room w/very little blankets. My alarm went off at the normal time. I hit the snooze a few times, then finally got up. He still wasn't up! So, I asked him if he was still planning on going in. He said yes, but had decided to go in later. He just didn't tell me. (I could have slept in for once! :he) I went back in my room, and played around on my laptop. If I get up and start doing any work, it wakes him up. He wasn't feeling well, so I wanted him to be able to sleep as late as possible. Finally, I HAD to get up. I needed to get the fire going, as well as make my coffee, and a thermos of hot chocolate. So, I got up. Last thing I planned on doing b4 I left was using the bathroom. We only have one, and my hubby is a meditator. Unfortunately, he got to the bathroom b4 I did. Since I got up late, I was late leaving, so it was late when I got to the nature center. The rest of the group had already started. I hoped that the door wasn't locked cuz I HAD to go. No such luck.

The nature center is on one side of the street. The lake and were we go for the bird walks is on the other. There's also a picnic/playground area near the lake, as well as a bathroom. I wasn't sure if they closed them off for the winter or not, some places around here they do. So, I walked across the street and headed for the bathrooms. I pushed on the door. Much to my relief, the door opened, and I was greeted by nice, warm air. I walked in. On the wall near the door is one of those fold up changing tables, I put my gloves on top of that. Much to my surprise, there was only one toilet. Then I looked at the rest of the space. What were those things against the wall? They were urinals! What were they doing in the ladies room? Then it hit me, I hadn't checked the door b4 walking in, I wasn't in the ladies room, I was in the mens room! I grabbed my gloves, glad that no one was around and walked into the ladies room instead.

I hate it when that happens to me. I also hate those unisex bathrooms. You know, the ones for men and women. It just depends on who gets there first and you better lock the door.

Whew... at least they weren't locked! How'd the bird walk go after that? Did you catch up to the group and have a good time?
