Got to the farm today, opened the door to my tack room, heard an unmistakable noise and there, sitting on my chair was NOISY!!!!!! I don't know if she was in there when I left yesterday, or got in there again!

Then I went to feed the horses. Because they didn't get their "snack" when I wasn't feeding them, I put a piece of carrot in each bag. I put the bags for Saturday's feeding in the bucket I use. The rest were on the top of their storage bucket. (Empty kitty litter container) Today I go to feed and find that Licky and Honey had a piece of carrot in their bags for today! So that means they didn't get their carrot yesterday. And, either I miscounted when I bagged feed, or Stormy got an extra feeding. He had a bag for today, but not one for tomorrow. And, Tuesday is the day I normally bag a week's worth of feed for him.

I was doing great this morning getting stuff done. I got up earlier, so I was able to get off of here earlier and get started on what I wanted to get done for the day. I had a load of clothes in the washer, had folded up a load of whites, and was sorting socks. Phone rings, it's my hubby. I had to get to the bank and put some money in the checking account. I had a couple of things I had to do B4 I could leave-like get a shower, load the dishwasher and run it. I figured everything else could wait. I didn't even have my coffee B4 I left! I planned on having it out at the farm. I also took my Bible. The plan was to have my devotions out there. Well, it didn't happen, so I'll have to have my devotions this evening.

Went to the bank and was able to get the money in quick enough. That will save us a ton! Otherwise, we would have made a late payment, and the interest rate would have gone up.

Get to the farm. Open up my tack shed and only Cindy was in there! :bun Get the horses fed and realize there's almost no wind! So, I worked on cleaning out my truck. I didn't get it all done, but it's much better! I would have had more done, but I had to leave. Today was the day for my allergist and chiropractor's appointments. So, I went to them, stop at Aldi's between appointments, then came home. I was able to get some wood cut and split, but probably won't need a fire until tomorrow. I won't be able to do it then, it's supposed to rain. :/

But, not having the wind, not having an extra cat in my tack shed, and being able to get the wood done meant that this was a better day.

Almost forgot to say, I just tried to candle my eggs but couldn't even seen thru most of the shells! So, I probably won't be able to tell if I have anything for another couple of weeks.

Deb! It is so great to hear that you are getting back to full speed!! In no time at all you'll be running circles around us all!!

What are you using to candle? I use a lamp with 100 watt bulb and an old cardboard oatmeal box. The tall round ones. The trick is to get it as dark as possible in the room with a really bright light shining through a hole. I poke a hole the size if a penny in the oatmeal box and set it over the lightbulb, but hold it where it doesn't touch it. I can usually candle all but the really dark brown eggs like marans eggs that way. Glad your getting around better!

I used a super bright flashlight and just stuck it against the egg. I wanted to get something better set up, but was being bothered by DH. I think he had a bit too much to drink, and was being a pain, which is normal. I've found though, if I get a bit nasty back, he stops acting like an idiot. I'm hoping to get something better set up B4 next week.

Deb, what about a toilet paper tube? Flashlight in one end and egg on the other?

That might work. And I'm pretty sure I have one. I even have several w/toilet paper still on them!

I just tried it, but it's a bit too light in here-hubby has the TV on. I'll try it in the morning after he's left for work. I could see something, just not sure what.
