Thanks, Jamie. As of right now, I don't know what we're doing. Since they changed the forecast, I don't know if we're going to attempt to get the coop done, or what. If not, I'll spend the day working in the garden.

Rained all night here off and on. I probably won't get into the garden here for a another two weeks.

It's actually been dry here. I'm trying to get as much done outside as I can. Then, if we do get more of the really wet weather, I won't be set back by it. I'm letting the house work slide to a point, but figure I can do that when it's too wet outside to do anything. I'm just keeping up w/what I already got clean. If I can get done at the farm, and get the garden done and the yard raked, then I'll worry about sorting thru more junk. And, when it's nice weather and I have more of the junk sorted thru, I'm having a yard sale. Anything that doesn't get sold goes to the thrift store.

And they STILL don't have the forecast right. It's supposed to be sunny by now. It isn't!

Today I did something that I haven't done in months. I went over to where I used to work and cleaned stalls. She's away, as well as the person that she has doing stalls now. So, for today and tomorrow, I'm cleaning stalls for her. I am SO glad I don't have to do this everyday. I think it's because of how she has the horses. They're kept in stalls at night w/shavings. Mine are loose, no shavings. It takes me as longer to clean the stalls for 3 horses than it does to pick up all the manure in my field for 4 horses! Plus, from the urine being trapped, there's more smell involved. I smell more from doing that 1 day than I do if I wear the same jeans all week caring for my horses. I changed my jeans when I got home, will wear those tomorrow, and then put on clean jeans on Monday.

I'd be rich if I could get paid for being wrong! :gig
DH constantly gripes about them! Points out they go to school for EIGHT years, and can't even tell you what it's doing at that very minute! Our local guy has even been wrong about what it did the day before! DH hollers at him all the time "Get off the computer and stick your head out the window!" :gig

Well, tomorrow looks better. It never did warm up, so we didn't do anything outside. Instead, we went to both Lowe's and Home Depot. I was planning on just using 4 ft fence for the chickens, and then using some 2 ft to make it the 6 ft I wanted. I couldn't find 6 ft fence, and wasn't having much luck finding 2 ft! We went in Home Depot, nothing. Then we went into Lowe's. They had both 6 ft and 2 ft! Since the chickens will be in a corner of the horse pasture, we decided to get a roll of the 6 ft to do 2 sides, and a roll of the 2 ft to make the 4 ft 6 ft. And, he paid for it! :weee I wasn't expecting that. So, I'd say today was a good birthday in spite of the weather. Now we just have to decide what we're going to do for the top. I don't really want to leave them open to hawk attacks. :/

Do you plan to use hardware cloth or are you going to go with chicken wire?
