Especially since he's now not sure the coop he's building is going to be big enough! We're finally supposed to get a good Saturday, so he should be able to finish it. I'll be so glad when it's done!

He's also brought home a big electric wire spool! And, he can get some more. He's talking about turning them into picnic tables. He had one in the back of the truck yesterday when he stopped at the farm. Now, RU wants one as well. I had wanted one to put in w/the goats, but this is just too large.

We had one of those spools as a picnic tables way back when (you know, back when they were hauled around by a horse on a buckboard wagon  ) the guy we got it from had cut four half moons out of the bottom - so you could slide your chair under better and still have a foot rest/stability. The Ex made me leave it behind :hit He did build me a cool replacement though - a picnic table that fit together like a puzzle piece! Great for storage/moving, which we did a lot of :) Wonder what ever happened to that thing??? :p

He was SUPPOSED to bring home another spool today, but didn't. But I guess I have to let him go, it's his birthday.

We don't really do much for birthdays anymore. (I think we're too old, and have too much junk as it is!) But, I did get him a card. And, since it's almost Easter, they had all these little toy chicks in there. They're about the size the nuggets were when I got them. When you squeeze their belly, they peep. So, I got him one. You should have seen how the nuggets reacted to that!

Speaking of the nuggets, I'm wondering if they really are silkies, or if they're a cross or some other bantam breed w/feathers on the feet. I know they're supposed to have dark skin. But, I was looking at a yellow one today. And, it doesn't have much in the way of feathers in places. The skin looked pale, so I'm wondering.

So far today, I've worked on cleaning my kitchen, ironed a ton of shirts, hung clothes on the line, fed the horses, cleaned the field and got some of Stormy's stall cleaned (Honey's is cleaned, and I got all of the loose stuff out of Licky's!), dug up some weeds along the fence line, cleaned the waterer, dug up some weeds next to the back of my tack shed, worked on my Spanish, read the Bible, and did some studying and praying. I figure I deserve a break. I still need to do dishes, change the sheets and a few other things, so a break is nice. Now, if I only had something to munch on. :/ (Hey CL, whatcha baking?)

Never did get to the dishes. Hubby came home, DS stopped by, and they were both in the kitchen when I went to do the dishes. Hubby was cooking, son was sitting at the table, and there was just no way for me to do them. Plus, hubby was drunk. Not, mean, nasty drunk, but won't shut up and leave me alone until I yell at him drunk. So, I never did get to the dishes. But, I did get the sheets changed, do a bit of work in the bedroom. Plus, I worked some in the garden. I was going to put some fence posts in and start putting up the fence finally. But, I couldn't find my 100' tape. So, instead I worked on weeding. I have another tape at the farm. I'll bring that home for now and get started maybe this evening. I have a Maundy Thursday service at church tonight, so I'll need to leave enough time to get ready and go to that.

In other news, hubby brought home some more spools, including some smaller ones. We put 2 of them in w/the goats. Gidget is loving them! She keeps attacking the one. Plus, she was able to climb up on top of the goat house! Tried to get a pic, but she got down. I'm sure she'll get up again. But then again, I'm not really sure I want her up there for now. It needs a new roof, and I don't want her to get hurt.
