I want to do different things, but that is just how I felt. I told my husband that I almost feel like we finally moved in here, because I will be here all the time and not constantly leaving to go and clean someplace else and take care of someone else's animals instead of my own. We do, at least, have all our animals here. But we still don't know how all our financial things will pan out so I'm not so relaxed about being off either, but just couldn't do it anymore. I think you will know when you reach that point.

I bet you are HATING that snow, what a pain it makes everything! I'll pray for some warm sunshine and I'd be happy to share some of our RAIN with you.

After all the snow we got last winter, I was hoping for a mild winter. So far, it's been colder than normal, plus we've gotten over 1/2 of our normal snow fall in just one storm. It would not be so bad if everything I wanted done at the farm for the winter was done, but it wasn't. Next year, I will not have this problem. Come the end of April, beginning of May, the herd is being cut. I cannot care for 9 horses by myself and cannot count on KN being here, or doing anything when she is.

Right now, I'm asking myself what we're going to do about hay. I kept telling her that we needed to get set up for storing RBs, but I could never get her to help me. And while we have a bunch of squares, we only have about enough hay to last until the end of January. Tomorrow's the hay auction, but there's no guarantee I'll be able to get any, and even if I do, I don't have a way to get it out.

My husband finally looked at my truck yesterday. Keep in mind, I've been having problems w/my truck for months now and it failed inspection earlier in the year because the check engine light came on. Actually, I started having problems w/it when he used it to haul a bobcat. They had it on a huge trailer, and I honestly think it was too much weight-especially since he had trouble stopping. :barnie

But, he thinks the engine is shot. He says there's water in the engine and while it could be a gasket, he's not sure. If I need a new engine, he says that will cost about 2 grand, and we just don't have that kind of money. So, I am cutting all costs to the bone. He normally leaves the ceiling fan in the living room on 24/7. I just turned it off. He has the heat set too high. (For me, especially since no one is home during the day.) I just turned it back. I haven't had time to put clothes out to dry for quite some time. Right now, my clothes pole isn't even up, but is on the ground. As soon as the ground thaws out a bit, it will be going back up. Truthfully, I'd rather get a bigger truck-this is only a half ton, I'd rather have a 3/4 ton 4x4. (I've almost gotten stuck a few times the past couple of days w/all the snow.) But, I'm not going to argue w/him. Instead, I'm praying about it. God has promised to supply all my needs, and I need a truck. He can either keep this one running, supply the money to repair it, or supply the money to get a different truck. And I'll admit to being a bit excited. I want to see how God is going to answer this prayer. Plus, who knows? This just might be what's needed to bring my husband back to God.

Gosh, Deb, sorry about the truck. Any chance your hubby is wrong about the engine being shot? Maybe a second opinion on that would be good.

I've been doing the same kind of praying, wondering how I will manage and hoping that something comes through. My concern for you is getting stuck in the snow in inclement weather! You might do well to take a thermos of cocoa and some warm blankets, food, extra clothes etc., whenever you go out in it in case it breaks down.

It always happens where you least expect it.

Deb I think it's time to celebrate! It will be good to see how God answers this prayer. I love how you are handling this situation. BE EXCITED!! Tough times :smack eh who needs the worry? I'm with ya on that one. Maybe it doesn't stink so bad that the truck is currently dead or dying?!(mine car is too  ) Maybe it will bring your DH back to ground level and closer to God. Could be a blessing in disguise :D I'll say a prayer for ya ;) :hugs

I wish I knew how to do this. :(

Sorry t hear about the truck. I would get a second opinion as well. Perhaps it's not as costly to fix as you think.

Good luck with it all.
