Where did the summer go? It does not seem possible that it's gone already. And it never got overly hot this year. All in all, it was a nice summer.

I'm not 100% sure what we're doing today. They're calling for T storms at times, so I doubt that hubby will want to go out and do any work at the farm. So I'll probably have to run out this morning, and then again later on today. I'm hoping we can work together to get the living room clean, that would be nice. And it would be even better if we could work in the hallway on all the stuff he has there, but I'm not holding my breathe on that one. I do know he wants to do some shopping. We're going to get one of those things for my truck that will unload it w/out me having to do it by hand. That should save me time and energy. So my list for today is:

1. Normal farm chores
2. Clean field and spread manure
3. Clean living room
4. Shopping w/hubby
5. Dishes
6. Feed bunnies and goats and rake out goat pen

I cannot think of anything else that needs to be done for the day, but my list just looks too short.

What a wasted day. I found out this morning that hubby wanted to leave-w/out me going to the farm first! KN was at the farm, so she fed for me. But that meant I had to wait until this afternoon to clean the field. We were gone all morning. I did not enjoy myself. He wanted me right by his side. We weren't buying anything for me. We were out looking for stuff for him. I was able to get him to stop at TSC for me, but he wanted me to get done quickly. So, I didn't get to wander around the store and see if they had any good deals.

We finally made it to the grocery store. I hate grocery shopping w/him. And the bad thing is, all this shopping that we did today he had been going to do by himself yesterday.

Once we got home, I took a nap. I needed to get away from him and it was too hot to go out to the farm then. Once I got out to the farm, I had to do this morning's chores as well as pm chores. So by the time I got home, it was starting to get dark. I had enough light to rake out the goat pen, feed the goats and the bunny and empty the compost bucket. It is now dark out.

I didn't get to the dishes, nor the living room. Guess I'll be seeing if I have time to do that in the morning.

I'm not sure what I'm doing today. We have a problem w/the AC. I woke up B4 the alarm clock went off because I smelled something electrical burning. So, I may have to go upstairs w/hubby and help take it all apart to see if there's a problem.

Found the problem. The blower motor is shot. And since it's going to be in the 90s today, we need to replace it. I still don't know what I'm doing.

He got 'er done. The problem that he had was finding the replacement motor. Most places around here don't sell to homeowners, just to repair guys. But after doing some calling around, he found one for sale.

In spite of the mixed up day, I was able to get quite a bit done. At home, I cleaned the bedroom, did dishes, and put away some laundry from last week. I also washed a load of coats and hung them out on the line. Then I had to run out to the farm and feed, plus I had to go and buy feed and lime. Once I had the morning chores done, I went back home. It was late when I left for the farm, and late when I got back home. I did some more housework (cleaned part of the living room), then left for my appointments. (Hubby said he didn't need me.) I was able to run errands. The only place I didn't make it was Lowes. I wanted to get some furring strips. I just didn't have time.

From there, I headed back to the farm and got Stormy fed, put out hay, bagged feed, and took care of the chickens. I'll be so glad when I don't have to worry about rounding up chicks any more. It would be so much easier if I could round everyone up in the evening instead. Got home, fed the goats, got the laundry down, gave Thumper some greens and dumped the compost bucket. Then I got changed and went for a motorcycle run. Coming home, I was seeing lightening. So I made sure I hadn't left anything out I didn't want to get wet, then got a shower. We did get some rain, but it wasn't too bad out there. I'm hoping to get to bed soon.

Today is going to be another hot one. I'm so glad hubby was able to get the AC fixed. It isn't even cooling off at night. We're getting some of the hottest weather we've had all summer this week. I froze water bottles last night, and will be sticking some in w/Thumper. She really didn't look good last night. If it gets too bad for her, I will bring her inside-I hope. I figured I could just stick her in my chick brooder. Well, that may not work. My eggs are peeping, so they'll be going into lock down today!

I have another busy day today. We got more rain last night, and they're calling for showers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So I'm going to be doing more work in my garden, then finally planting for fall crops. I wanted to do it B4, but I'm not sure where I put my seeds. At least hubby cleaned out the fridge the other day. In one way, I'm glad-it means I don't have to do it. But, he threw out some pineapple that i had just opened the other day. I eat it in my oatmeal. But I guess giving the choice between a clean fridge and the pineapple, I'll take the clean fridge. So my list for today is;

1. Put out trash and recyclables
2. Lock down the bator
3. Dishes
4. Wash and hang out a load of clothes
5. Normal farm chores
6. Clean kitchen
7. Work on cleaning DD's old bedroom
8. Feed bunny and goats and rake out goat pen
9. Work in garden

I don't know what I'm going to do out at the farm. Guess I'll figure that out when I get there. W/as hot as it's going to be, I don't want to ride, or really work w/anyone. I'll be glad when we get cooler weather. Maybe I'll just give everyone a good grooming.

I'm ready for fall as well. I hate the heat.

Well, I got everything on my list done! And, one of my eggs has pipped! It's not one of the ones that was peeping, so hopefully I'll get at least 3 chicks, if not more from this hatch.

I also picked my first zucchini and yellow squash as well as a bunch of eggplant. And I have good sized butternut, acorn and spaghetti squash. So as long as it doesn't get cold too quickly, I should still be able to get a good harvest from the squash. My main problem w/my garden is that since I let hubby have half the garden, my stuff is planted too close together. Next year will be better. He was looking at my garden and is very impressed w/it. He's thinking he's going to let me have the whole garden next year. So, I'm going to be making up 3 garden plans. Then, no matter how much of the garden I have, I'll be good to go.

I also got some stuff planted, beets and turnips. Tomorrow I'm going to get some more stuff planted. By the end of the week, I should have all of my fall crops in. It's too late for me to plant Brussel sprouts but that's OK, I don't like them any way. :hide

I'm thrilled w/the amount of work I'm getting done to the house. Every week it's getting cleaner and cleaner. I made a small dent in DD's old room and should be able to do more both tomorrow and Friday. And, my laundry is even getting done. I might actually be able to wake up one morning and not have a ton of stuff to get caught up on!
