I did not hang the clothes out yet. It was too cold this morning. My hands would have frozen. I need to get them out still, but first, I need to warm up! It was cold in the house since it got so cold last night (15.6* according to my digital thermometer!). I went out and gave water to the animals and it was cold out there. Plus, the circuit tripped for the goats' water bucket, so it was solid ice. I figured I'd be warm in the restaurant-it was cold in there. I get home, expecting it to be warm here, hubby didn't put wood in the stove, so it's cold in here! I am now in the process of getting the fire burning well so that I can warm up.

I did not get as much done as I wanted to. It was cold in the house when I got home, and didn't want to do anything but sit in a chair wrapped up in a blanket. I finally got warm enough to go out to the farm, and took the bike. It was a bit colder than I was expecting, but I'll admit that it felt good to be on the bike. Normally, I can ride at this time of the year.

I forgot to leave hay for KN to put out this morning, so of course, the horses were very happy to see me. The chickens all wanted out, but they'll be locked up for another week. Then on Saturday, I plan on letting them out when I give Stormy his 2nd feeding. I'll do the same on Sunday, then start increasing the amount of time they're out until I know for sure that the 2 new ones won't try to get in w/the other chickens. It means I'm using more feed for now.

Got home, and did some more cleaning in the goat pen. There's a lot of waste hay in front of the hay feeder. I've been trying to rake it up, but have had no luck. So, I'm using my shovel to get it up. There's more than I'd realized, so I'll be taking a bucket out every day until it's done.

Finally remembered to hang the clothes out on the line, then got started on firewood only to have it start to rain! I wasn't worried about the clothes since I got them on so late that I won't be taking them down until tomorrow. But, I had 2 bags of chicken feed in the back of the truck as well as my cargo unloader, so I had to stop working on the wood and get that stuff out. The one bag was for here, so I put that in the can it belongs in. The other goes out to the farm, so I stuck it in my truck. Since I didn't get started on the wood until late, it was dark by the time I got done, so I didn't do any yard work.

Came in the house and emptied then refilled the dehydrator. Then I made myself some dinner. I was going to do the dishes, but there's not a whole lot of them. Hubby wasn't home for most of the day, so he didn't dirty a ton of them. I'll do them in the morning instead.

Now I'm sitting here relaxing and thinking about going to bed soon. I'm tired and am having trouble staying awake. At least it's not supposed to be as cold tomorrow.

Tell me about it! What a difference 24 hours make! Yesterday it was freezing cold out there, around 18*. This morning, it's about 34*! I'm not even going to check on the waters cuz even if they have some ice in them, it should melt fairly early.

They're calling for more rain tonight, but it's also supposed to be warmer. I think I'm going to take everyone's blanket off and put their rain sheets on instead. That way, I can bring home Misty's blanket and fix the strap. I won't need to put the blankets back on until Tuesday. Tomorrow, I can take off the sheets as well cuz it's going to be close to 70! Hopefully I can get a lot done both at the farm and at home. Then they're calling for a mix of snow and rain on Wednesday. If we get that, I doubt I'll have a lesson. If I don't have a lesson, then I'll probably saddle her up on Friday and ride at the farm. Unless I have to, I don't want to miss a week riding.

Other than church, normal animal chores and dishes, I'm not really planning on doing much today. I slept until almost 6:00, and it felt good. I also haven't been waking up as much in the middle of the night.

I spent most of the day relaxing. There weren't many dishes until late, and I'm not doing dishes now. It felt good to just sit and do nothing for once.

And I forget to do that too often. I do try though to have Sunday as a day to relax, it just doesn't always happen.

I have a feeling I'm going to be dragging today. I woke up way to early. It got warm and windy out, so I was too hot. Then I couldn't go back to sleep because of the wind. I may try after hubby leaves for work. I'm not 100% sure what all I'm doing today. Hubby may take off the afternoon and put new windows in my tack shed. That would be nice. We've had the new ones for over a year. The ones that are in there leak! If he doesn't, I'm going to try and get the ball hitch off my mower by myself. I NEED to clean my field. It looks horrible, but w/out having the hitch off of there, I can't hook up my spreader. Tying it on just doesn't work. If he doesn't come, I just may try to do it by myself.

One thing I will be doing is going to the church this afternoon for a bit. We have Thanksgiving baskets made up for several families in the area. They need to go to a local school, so I'm going to be delivering them there. We'll put them in the back of my truck to run them over. I'm glad my church does this. The church that I used to attend pretty much stopped doing this, and we never gave like this.

W/the warmer weather, I'm hoping I can get home early enough to get some stuff done out in the yard. They're calling for rain again on Wednesday, then Thursday is Thanksgiving and Friday is supposed to be colder. So, my tentative list for today is:

1. Laundry
2. Housework
3. Normal farm chores
4. Get rid of dock in field
5. Clean field and spread manure
6. Windows
7. Deliver baskets
8. Yard/garden
9. Goat pen
10. Feed animals
11. Dishes
12. Dehydrate apples

I think this is plenty for today.

Hope you got lots done and haven't blown away by now! We had crazy wind and rain last night. Of course, for once, I'm stuck in the office and the weather is actually going to be pretty!!

I kept wishing that my lesson was today. It was supposed to be on Wednesday, but we have a Nor'easter due to hit w/rain changing to snow! :barnie

I knew it had rained overnight, but didn't realize how much rain we got until I left and saw the puddles. So that meant my field is all muddy again. And that meant I couldn't clean the field let alone spread the manure. I worked on the dock for awhile, and got almost all of it gone in one section of my field. But parts of that section were really muddy, so I didn't work in that area.

Hubby called and was coming over to work on the windows. Since it was normally the time I'd leave when he called, I needed to find something to do to kill time. So, I worked on cleaning up the feed stall. I got part of it done, but not all. I want to make it so I can get to the wood that's in there easily, but in order to do that, I need to take the feed cans out. I couldn't do it today because of how muddy the field was. But I did get part of it done.

When hubby got there, we went to work on the first window. It's a good thing we took the old one out. The wood was starting to rot at the bottom of the window. I had to leave B4 hubby was completely finished, but came back after delivering the food. By the time I got back, hubby was done the window and had the ball hitch off of the mower! I can now hook up my spreader. Hubby worked on packing stuff up while I got Stormy fed, took care of the chickens and got hay out.

The hardest part was the chickens. I've had them penned up for a couple of days because I let some young pullets in w/the main flock. These pullets had been raised by one of the farm chickens, and I had them in one section of the broody pen. When I had tried letting them out B4, they managed to get back in w/the farm chickens. So, I let them in w/the rest of the flock on Friday. I had planned on leaving them locked up for at least a week. But, they seemed to have settled in well, so I let them all out today. They did great! But, when I went to pen everyone up, I had 1 of my cockerels that didn't want to get rounded up. I had to chase him around for a few minutes B4 I got him in. If I had been able to catch him, I would have stuck him in w/the other 3.

By the time I got home, it was getting dark. I got the animals all fed, got clothes off the line, and since I still had a little bit of light, I decided to do a bit of weeding. I got maybe 10 minutes in B4 it got too dark.

Once in the house, I did dishes and dehydrated apples. Now I'm sitting back and relaxing. I might go to bed early.
