Arabs are awesome horses, they usually have brains in them which help them think through things more so than many other horses would. I've known several that were super awesome horses. Some can be flighty, but often they calm down quickly and are the most curious. I fell in love with the Crabbet Arabians when we were working a show and were next to their booth. They're the "english" breed of Arab (kind of like Polish Arab and Egyptian Arab) and they are wonderful, and not flighty at all.

I often tell people that Misty is an Italian Arabian. She came w/out papers since she's a rescue. The reason that Italians are referred to as WOPs is because so many of them came w/out papers, so they were stamped "WOP". And since I have an Italian last night, no one accuses me of being racists!

As far as I know, Misty is an Egyptian Arabian. Her whole herd was seized and they were supposed to be Egyptian. I've had people that don't know horses but only think they do ask me if she's an Appaloosa or some other breed and are shocked when they learn she's an Arabian. Look at her head! You can tell w/no question asked.

What amazes me is people that ask about my Arabian, and are asking about Licorice and not Misty! I am not 100% sure what Licorice is since I got her at auction. But, my guess is Welsh/Arab cross. I'll have to post a picture of her one day. I'm spending more time working w/the horses now, and she really needs it-she's fat.

I'd love to see pictures of your ponies! That's so odd because I can immediately see the arab in Misty. It's so obvious!!

I got asked again if she was an appy. We've been riding every week. Some weeks I'm even able to have a lesson and a trail ride. Problem I'm having now is the weather. It keeps raining! I won't take my trailer out if it's too wet. The parking area is grass. From people driving in it while it's wet, the grass is disappearing. And, I don't want to make ruts.

Yep, it's raining right now, and is supposed to rain again on Friday! I'm hoping I can get my trailer out on Thursday. If not, other than in my field, I won't be riding this week.

Yeah, we were almost undisturbed on New Years Eve since it was raining so hard no one shot off any fireworks.

I forgot I had an appointment today. I'm riding tomorrow. I should be able to get my trailer out w/no problem.
