Apricot kernel oil has a small molecular structure, close to sebum and is readily absorbed into the skin. Olive oil has a larger molecular makeup and it sits on top of the skin making a barrier. They are both useful but for different purposes.

Just thought I would throw that out there.
Thank you! Where do you get it?
Health food store, grocery store......

Those are the two places here. Like Wife said jojoba oil is similar but I find it way more $$$.

I don't use anything on my face either. I used to a few years ago. The only thing that I could find that would clear my face was Mary Kay's 3 in one cleanser for normal skin. Nothing else I tried worked.

I haven't had a real problem in a couple of years so I haven't been using anything. I think it's because I have rarely worn make-up in the past couple of years LOL. As a matter of fact, I just threw out my make-up bag last month since it had been over 6 months since I had worn any and the make-up that was in there was over 2 years old.

I have noticed, if I wash my face with any kind of soap, I will break out and that's all there is to it no matter if I've used make up or not.

When I jump in the shower, I just let the water cascade over my face and run my hands over my face. The only sort of soap that gets on it is shampoo when I'm rinsing.

I don't use any moisturizer. It breaks me out.

I can't live without lotion though. My hands, arms and legs are very very dry and I have mild psoriasis - along with that I'm a paper -pusher and it really dries out my hands. Also, my children are very prone to dry skin.

I've been looking into making my own lotion and had found jojoba (sp) a bit pricey - but I will look into Apricot oil instead. Thanks for that tip!!

I hear you there! I used to wear a moisturizing sunscreen and then foundation on top of that to conceal my blemishes. I gave up both of them, and now I don't have any blemishes to conceal. :) I think a hat to keep the sun out of my face is a better alternative to the greasy moisturizer/sunblock.

I only wash my face with my homemade soap or an oatmeal mix now. I use calendula tincture as a toner, and I moisturize with a mix of water, vegetable glycerin, and skin-friendly EOs.

I knew several "old world" Italian women (who came over on the boat!) who still had the most beautiful skin even into their 90's. They are all gone now, but the only thing they ever used on their face and hands was olive oil. Before retiring in the evening they would moisturize their hands and face with EVOO. They swore by it and their skin was amazing! They also tanned beautifully, but that may have had more to do with genetics!
When I got my horse he had this horrible dry, itchy tail that I could NOT get rid of! The checker at Trader Joes told to spray olive oil, he's never had that problem since then lol. After a week or so his tail grew back.

I don't wash my face with soap, either. Well, maybe once a week or so just because I feel I ought to. Hot water in the shower. In the winter I also do the steam over a pot of water thing to help hydrate my sinuses. I noticed when I wiped the condensed steam off my face a LOT of dirt came with it, so now I use steam to open and clean my pores. I don't use a lotion except once in awhile in the winter over night, and only in areas of my face that don't tend to get greasy. I am a bit paranoid about getting crows feet around my eyes, but not enough to actually buy anything to do anything about them. Especially since (I think someone already said) the retinols and irritants in all the "wrinkle creams" just plump up the skin with edema from the irritation and fill out the wrinkles temporarily.
