Do you have SS friends? Or do your friends think you are weird?

Here in Az there have been quite a few children die after being returned to their parent/parent's or not removed at all. Then they say they did their investigation & everything was fine. Okay if it was fine why was that child killed? then they remove ones for a little thing & no investigation & it takes the parents months if not yrs to get their kids back. One man had a neighbor child claim he molested him after he sent the kid home & told him his kids could not play(the kid was 7/8). CPS came in & removed his kids immediately. It took him 7 his wife 2 yrs to clear his name & get the kids back. Even though the little boy recanted his story 6 mos later & said he only did that because he was mad at the man. 2 more yrs to get his kids back!!!!!:hu I really think they have the prorities wrong!!!!!

That's terrible!! But sadly, I have a friend who was removed from the home for someone overhearing part of a conversation and mis-repeated it to CPS! We were seniors in highschool. It took her mom over a year to get her kids back, and she had to make her husband leave the home as one of the stipulations to get the kids back.

They tear apart the families that don't need to be & leave children in volitile situations becasue the parents are getting counciling & taking classes. Why not remove those until they finish those classes & counselling? With a liberal supervised visitation plan? It really is so simple. IMO

I'm sorry, but I have to say this..... I was not a children's aid worker, but I worked VERY closely with them, and it is not all as you say. There are certain protocols a SW needs to follow, there is alot that happens that you are not aware of. Thre are rules laws etc that they need to follow. It all has to be done by the book. They are not all bad, but they are mostly all overworked, overstressed, and they have to respond to EVERy call they get. Of course you only hear of the bad cases--that's human nature. And there have been bad things that have happened. But there has also been ALOT of good.

It reminds me of a saying--Don't judge a person until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Quail, i'm sorry someone called on you, but know that the SW HAD to inspect. That was his job.

No, I didn't read through all 4 pages of posts, but I will answer Beekissed...

I am SO LONELY!! lol....my whole family..in-laws and out-laws both ;) think I am a complete nut job. BUT....when it comes to canning or other things, its "oh, can you bring some of your homemade..." and they love it. My MIL just last Sunday said "I must admit, I never thought you could do the stuff you do. "

Yes, my friends (the 2 that I have, lol, one including my SIL) think I've lost my brain. I love that condesending voice "Oh, thats nice, well, you have fun with that new project, hehe" gggrrr Thats why I think we should all pitch in and get a private island and live amongst ourselves...each with their own talent and have our own SS town, or rather...settlement. :D

Yes, its very lonely here in the SS world....its why I keep busy constantly...cooking, making, sewing, cleaning, etc. Then I don't have time to think about it.

We just had my family over for thanksgiving. My dh hunts, and itis bow season right now. He doesn't have alot of places around here to hunt, so when gun season opens, he will be going up north with some friends to hunt.

My neices, 16, and 12, as well as my sis and her dh, don't understand the hunting thing and we get the poor bambi story from th m--my neices esp. While they were here, of course the had to come in the barn to see the chicks etc, and I have meat rabbits. My 16yo neice thinks it is absolutley horrid that we would kill a cute little fuzzy bunny, when there is so much meat you could buy in the grocery stores.

To each their own, I guess.

As we were talking around the dinner table, of course the discussion came to the economy, and I just said, I'm glad I have my chickens and rabbits.

Both my mom and dad said that both my grandparents did exactly as I am doing , and they would have been happy to know that I chose to live like this.

Well if that is the case they dropped the ball with my son then! I called and the hospital called & they did not respond or invetigate either call. My ex had him on a motorcycle & they wrecked it(dswas only 6) & ds hurt his foot, did ex take him to the ER? Nope, I did the next day when I got him back since he could not walk on his foot at all. Then again The ER doc called because ex took ds to the mtn's to play in the snow even though he got up that morning throwing up!!! Then he called me about 3 & said he was bringing him home early because ds was sick & throwing up. Only after he got home we discovered he had been throwing up all day & still went to the snow. He also had bruises on his abdomen that he said were from his father & stepmom throwing snowballs at him all day. We took ds to the ER after he ahd been home for about 3 hrs as he was getting blood in his vomit & the ER doc saw the bruises & asked him about them he told the Doc about being hit(had not told me previously) & the ER doc said he was obligated to report my ex to CPS. I told him to go right ahead I had nothing to hide & no problem with it. Guess what, no investigation again. Try this on for size too. the next day ex calls & asked what the Er doc said. How did he know I took ds to the ER? His finance worked in the ER & saw the chart the next day. Did she violate privacy laws, you bet she did & when I called the hospital & complained she was reprimanded big time. Her uncle also happened to be the Sheriff at that time too. So do they do what you said not for everyone & I have absolutely no faith in them here in AZ.

Again, sorry that happened. It looks like other things might have been in play for that particular scenario. All I am saying is you can't paint them all with the same brush.

Guess she does not realize where the meat in the grocery stores come from.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. I thought the US wa the only country that celebrated Thanksgiving until I was getting some Thanksgiving info for ds's schoolwork & discovered Canada celebrates on the second Mon of Oct. Very interesting I am going to find out more info on Canada's celebration & compare it for him. Any info you care to share with me?
