SKR8PN...how did you know I have a b i t c h hat?

*looks over both shoulders*

Ok, I appreciate all the feedback!! You guys are the best :D

I don't think it is age related, he is getting up there, but seriously he is like a camel...he can be inside for a long time and never have an accident, this is willful.....and he knows it is wrong because when I call him into the room "Teddy, you got some 'splainin' to do!" he happily heads in my direction until he realizes that I am standing next to his pee....then he sheepishly tries to sneak away and won't look at me.

We have lived here for nearly 2 mos and this just started. Never day time accidents, only the ones that I find as the sun comes up.

Since I do not have a crate, I will put him in the laundry room. And buy some Natures Miracle.

Lately, since the peeing began, I have started putting him outside when I am not home. I just don't trust the little s h i t head. I love him but I don't want this problem to escalate.

Oh and yes, he is fixed.

He needs to be house trained all over again. You need to reward the behavior of eliminating outside. Every time he goes to the toilet outside give him a treat and praise him. If he goes inside just ignore it. But you need to put him on a feeding schedule and take him outside regularly just like you would a new puppy. And then treat and praise every time he goes in the right place.

Thanks meme....gosh I guess good training from the start DOES pay off

Don't ever fall into the trap of letting your kid convince you that they are really gonna take care of the pet. You have to do it if you want it done right. I didn't. I was lazy. My name is Dace my dog is not trained. :hide

Last night he slept in the laundry room. I left the door open, just blocked the exit so that he could see out, I don't want to lock him up inside a dark room all by his lonesome :(

At about 4 we heard howling. Great, the little effer is gonna stick it to me for putting him in the laundry room! I hauled my sleepy self outta bed, grabbed my B I T C H hat from off the night stand and across the house only to find him sprawled out snoozing. Went back to bed and heard more howling. Coyotes. Dummy.

This morning I got him up, we went outside to where he is supposed to go, told him "go potty' which BTW, I have tried to train him on that and I think that he thinks I am stupid. Whatever. He peed and I sprinkled fairy dust all over him and he raced me back into the house.

So when I have to be gone it will be outdoors for him and if it is night or raining I guess the laundry room is his new home.

Thanks for all the help!

I love you guys :D

It is very rare that I pull out my hat, very rare....but I do have one

Second night in the laundry room, but this mornng he would not go pee.

After standing around for over 10 minutes I fed him and he stayed outside for another 20 mins....I hope he went.

What do you do if the dog does not need to go? Just wait till he finally does and then praise him? Poor guy was confused as to why I insisted on standing outside for so long. He just laid there bored.

Dogs are so funny. Sometimes mine will get me up in the middle of the night to go out. Then she just walks out on the porch and lays down instead of going. I just tie her to the steps and let her lay there, and stumble back to bed.
