Your right redux, she said it had a lot of fat on it and was very greasy, she didn't like it too much. Her husband did though. Lol. I don't think I even eat that much meat in an entire week or more.
Not talking about cup fulls here...sigh...........never mindredux said:That may be true but it does not require a massive amount. It is foolish to think that if a little bit of fat is good, a lot is better. Fat is high in calories. Most of us do not exercise as much as natives who harvest their own game. Your average cube rat like myself can make do on a whole lot less fat.Bubblingbrooks said:Animal fats are full of fat soluble vitamins that are not available in anything else. In the past, the natives would actually refuse to eat any game they harvested, if it did not have fat on it.redux said:It does not look like anything I would want to eat. All I can see is fat, salt, preservatives and additives. Urk.
Protein requires fat for proper digestion.
Yeah neither do I, I suppose that is why a sandwich like this seems so disgusting to me. I prefer a wrap with sprouts and avocado and tomatoes. I do eat meat again, but I am still drawn toward a more healthy, vegetarian lifestyle.Blackbird said:Your right redux, she said it had a lot of fat on it and was very greasy, she didn't like it too much. I know- I was referring to the amount of fat that is surely in that sandwich. It has to be way too much.Bubblingbrooks said:Not talking about cup fulls here...sigh...........never mindredux said:That may be true but it does not require a massive amount. Considering that the regulars eat an entire burger like that quite often, and knowing where that meat most likely came from - and the bread. Then they wash it down with a couple of beers. Ah huh.redux said:I know- I was referring to the amount of fat that is surely in that sandwich. Oh dear Animal fats actualy do your arteries a favor.k0xxx said:Fat or not, it was GOOD! I wouldn't eat one every day, or every week for that matter, but it was delicious.
I am more carnivore, than omnivore. I crave meat. Give me a 24 ounce ribeye with a LOT of marbling, medium rare (more on the rare side), cooked over a very hot flame, and I am a happy man. That being said, I recognize the health implications of such a diet and I do not partake of such treats, but for the rare occasion. For those that do not, good for them.
To paraphrase (and with apologies to) Patrick Henry: Is life so dear, or health so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of sprouts and tofu? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me Ribeyes, and give my arteries death!
I think if you really like that stuff you should eat it once in a while.k0xxx said:Fat or not, it was GOOD! I wouldn't eat one every day, or every week for that matter, but it was delicious.
