Bananas are not the best source of potassium plus they are loaded with sugar. Same with orange juice. Yeah it has c but there better sources with way less sugar.

For potassium, try celery. For c try berries or leafy greens. I known there are lists out there but I am on hubby's iPad and not a real computer. Maybe freem or bb can post their recommendations until I can get to a real computer.

Another thing that can cause cramps is lack of calcium. Learned that when I was pregnant w/my DD. I was getting horrible leg cramps at night. My DR had me up my calcium intake, and they went away. So, if you're getting leg cramps at night, try drinking a glass of milk.

What about if you never bruise and heal quick? I had my 4-5' female python attach her fangs and body to my arm for 5 minutes.

Do you think I got to show off my battle scars? Course not.

This is one thing I'd go get a CBC for. Appetite changes in combination with easy bruising can be symptoms of a range of fairly nasty blood disorders, as well as several types of cancers, primarily blood cancers.

I see it from the inside, I admit, since I had a son with leukemia. But it is a symptom I'd have not ignored even prior to his bout with it.

Those two symptoms alone may or may not be consistent with those disorders - they are often characterized by additional symptoms, but not always. My son's symptoms were nothing more than a change in appetite, so the presentation is often far from "classic", and that holds true for most serious conditions.

Ask your doctor for a CBC with a manual differential. That second part is important because that is having someone actually look at the slide. Most blood tests are done completely automated, and they are not as accurate for diagnosing many types of blood disorders.

If it comes back clean, then adjusting diet is appropriate.

Hmm..my grandfather died of leukemia. Maybe I should go see a doctor...but I'm broke and uninsured :/ I think it may be a nutritional deficiency. Having an allergy to soy and avoiding salt for so long thus avoiding a whole plethora of foods...has my body in a strange limbo right now. I'm not tired or anything symptomatic of blood cancer. As a matter of fact i have way MORE energy than I did a year or so ago. I dunno......I drank OJ this morning. CRAVING the stuff, so maybe it is C. I can't wait for my peppers to grow so I can have some of those for C!! They are LOADED, and so very yummy :D Might be low in the B vitamins, but I think I have too much energy for that one too. :hu Potassium....WZ...I LIKE bananas though :p  and sugar :hide I'm drinking raw milk now, so wouldn't think calcium would be it either.

Kale is also high in C, and potatoes have a lot of potassium - and a decent amount of C.

I have an inherited kidney condition where we don't process C very well, so I have to monitor how much I get, and not get too much, so I pay attention to which foods have a lot. I have to count those foods every day, or I have raging headaches.

This is one of the easier sites online to get nutritional info:

http://whfoods.com/foodstoc.php

You can look up foods, and see what nutrients they have, or you can look up nutrients and see what foods have high amounts.

I eat a lot of potatoes and turnip greens :D actually have had a good bit of both the last couple days.

Thanks for the link :) I'll have to check it out. I'm kinda leaning toward the potassium issue being it. It makes the most sense. The extreme hunger....could just be that I am working outside and sweating a lot right now. I'm not as hungry today :hu though I DID work my tail off. But then I also remembered breakfast this morning too. :hide I get so busy I often forget to eat breakfast. I hit the ground running in the mornings usually.

Try the Vitamin C with bioflavonoids. The extra appetite makes me think that some kind of deficiency is involved. Don't take a huge dose at one time though or it could have a laxative effect. Don't want you getting a fast surprise.

If you try talking Iron- Chelated Iron is easier on the gut than the old forms of it.
