Katie Curic reported that MRSA tests were done on mass produced cattle farms in Iowa and Illinois by the Universtiy. All farms tested that used antibiotics had MRSA found, even in employees.
Farms that were tested that did not use antibiotics all tested neg. for MRSA.
That could be an indication.... but salmonella is not an antibiotic created disease...it has been around for a very long time and who can say for sure just where it lingers. You could pick it up in any grocery store.
I guess If I had chickens I would get them tested. Once you know your flock is clean you can advertise it and hang your lab report on the wall. Then do your own breeding to prevent infection coming from outside the flock.
Salmonella is very contageous with medicore hygiene.
