It is written in my medical records that I am an insomniac. But I am getting soo much better about being able to sleep.
The trick for me was developing aroutine before bed - no matter how exhausted I may be, I go through my routine. Part of that is stretching before bed - not exercising, just stretching. Also the 'relaxation' technique of tightening muscles one group at a time and relaxing them (ie start at the toes, tighten, relax; add the foot with the toes, tighten relax, calf... etc).

I was excited about our 66* coming up this week... in fact, I still am, I don't want 80 this early in the year! ;)

I can go to bed a bit late and be okay but if I change my wake up time by even ten minutes, I feel really thrown off.

I have a pretty strict bedtime routine, too, though. It helps.

Morning Abi! :frow Glad to see you up with the rest of us early risers. :D
MEEEAN! hi :D GOod to see you too! I don't like being QUITE this early a riser ;) hahaha. BUT!!!

It is 330 and I'm off work AND already ran my after work errands. And the sun is still out, the windows open, and 4 more hours til I start winding down in which to get some sewing done!

WOOT!!!!

I have been on a complex carbohydrate only diet for years. It is sometimes hard for me to stick to, since everyone around me gets so offended if I don't eat their stuff  That is one of the things I have really been working on to get back on track. But that involves me being really prepared and making the food I can eat and substituting it, when someone insists I eat their stuff. Sometimes I tell people I am a diabetic, they are more understanding of my diet then. It is so annoying!
I am not a strict routine kind of person, I get to distracted and too bored with that sort of thing. Plus even when I tried it, it didn't work. Diet helps somewhat. One thing I read many years ago, was to eat a piece of hard cheese and a piece of apple at bedtime to help with waking up around 2 am and that has helped me. It is part of the hypoglycemic diet. I wish I still had that book. I cannot even remember the title or the name of the doctor. It was published in 1964 or so.
WZ, I'll have to look into the maca root. I am sure I can find it at our alternative grocery store (not Whole Foods, but what Whole Foods should be)

Yeah, this extremetly warm weather is not very good. The plums are blooming!!! I am sure we'll get close to freezing shortly and then it will kill off the plums and the blooms. Our peach buds are swelling way to early too.

It is around 73 today. It feels way too hot to work, but we both feel the need to take advantage of the sunshine. SO is building a new goat pen and I am digging up the soil under the peaches, under the watchfull eye of the chickens.
The chickens were assisting SO with the building of the goat shed, but they just kept asking "what do you want me to do" and getting underfoot. As helpfull as they were trying to be, it was a little bit difficult for him to get anything done. That is why I decided to distract them with my project and they gladly came over to help.

But now I am tired. My arms really hurt from stacking all that firewood yesterday.

I don't ever remember it being in the 80s in February, but several years back, it did get into the 80s in mid March. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and was hot! All the peach trees bloomed early. I don't recall how bad the crop was that year.

Apparently we broke a record from 1912 yesterday. It was officially 83.
Colder weather is supposed to come back tomorrow though.

I made turkey goulash tonight. I had some wild turkey breast thawed out and decided to use it to make hungarian goulash. It came out good. I used homegrown onions, homegrown paprika, homegrown peppers and homegrown tomatoes. It feels great!!!

DD has been going to the doctor 2 or three times a week. She is officially considered a complicated pregnancy.
Now the little bugger has decided to flip himself around and planted his little bottom firmly in DD's birth canal. He refused to be moved. So a c-section has been scheduled for Feb 21 am. It happpens to be the dad's birthday. So we figure it is a good sign. DD was born on her dad's birthday ;)

I delivered the bassinet that I refurbished on sunday. It looks adorable. If my computer wasn't acting up, I'd post a picture, but I am not prepared to wait 15 minutes for the pic to upload, maybe :/

DD's cats immediately performed quality control. They found it comfortable and roomy enough for two

On sunday Stepson and GF helped us move the pasture for the goats. SO and DSS had built a nice new shed for the goats about a week ago and we moved the fence to surround it in the middle of the field. We put the canopy in front of the open side of the goat house to provide a bit more shelter from the rain.
I am reall happy with the way it worked out. And we got it done in the nick of time. It started to rain last night and rained most of today and is supposed to continue to rain.

It also looks like Flower is in heat again and we are really hoping that Blossom is not going to follow her lead :/

I spent today sewing a changing pad for the grandbaby. It will fold up into a bag and hold diapers, wipes and other items in four pockets I sewed onto it. I have it almost finished.

I feel quite a sense of accomplishment these last months. SO and I have managed to get a lot of projects done. :)

Whoo hoo!!! Baby's coming soon!!! Sorry about the C section. Maybe he will still roll over and make things easier.

I can't wait to see the bassinet. I am sure it's just beautiful.

Have a great day!!
