I am so glad I decided to check the peach trees. I ended up picking two baskets of peaches. I also got a few more italian plums.

I got the goats walked. I took them to the back of the house, where there are some roses going wild. So the girls had a nice snack. The cars going by scared them though.
I had just put the girls back in there pen with a nice bucket of cut up corn stalks (provided by SO) when I heard a commotion in one of our woodpiles.
It was SO. I didn't think much of it. Next time I looked up, he was holding a small rat at the end of his knife! "Dinner, we have dinner, I yelled out" I guess the dog was going after it and SO noticed and was helping the dog. Good job for both of them!!!
As the three of us (the dog, SO and I) walked toward the house, I shouted to DSS and his friend, "we have meat for dinner tonight". "Eww" was the answer we got. Oh well, I guess they'll have to settle for vegetarian minestrone
Now to go back out and remember what else needs doing. I am so glad the minestrone soup is in the crock pot, so I don't have to worry about dinner...

You could contact Blackbird to see if he has any extra goats for you. He's in Minnesota.

OK Free, I gave them some extra smooches and told them they were from Freemotion. They really liked that and stepped on my head for a thank you, I was sitting down at the time. They love the cuddles in the evenings, or anytime for that matter.

They got lots of smooches tonight and I got some right back ;)

Yummy! Do they let you stroke their ears? I want to reach into those pictures and feel those silky little earlets! I handled my doelings' ears right from day one, as they are so cute. Now you have to give them more smooches because of those new pictures...

I can handle every part of them. I followed advice from everyone on here and started touching them all over from day one. They are a little sensitive about the ears, but they tolerate it for a couple of seconds. I love their little elf ears.

It is too cold out there now to go and give them more smooches, although it is tempting. I just brought Susie into the hen house, brrrr and I had my winter coat on.
I have the goats in a converted crate in a nice and sheltered part of the yard. There is a solid wood fence on one side and the neighbors garage at right angles to it, blocking the wind and one of the neighbors has a huge pine tree that covers that whole corner. It is one of my favorite spots to sit. The shade from the tree keeps it cool in the summer and the fence and garage keep the cold wind out. I like sitting in there with them, it is toasty and quiet in there. We just snuggle up together :love

Ohmygosh you have Lamachas! I don't think I knew that. Are they minis or regular size? They are very pretty. Can't wait to get mine home.

I woke up thinking about doughnuts, which I don't eat but a few times a year. And then I started reading about all these peaches everyone has and...yep, peach doughnuts is what I'm craving now. I don't even know if there is such a thing, but :drool
