The skunk is now FREE!!! However, it went into the hole I thought was where the rat I saw was living. :barnie

What did learn today?
- it helps to stand upwind from any trapped skunk
- from the right angle, you can actually see the droplets of spray hanging in the air, glistening like pretty diamonds as they float gently down. :p
- being calm and in control is a good thing
- having a DS well-conditioned to trustingly follow dad's orders immediately and without question is a huge bonus. :clap
- there are great folks here on this site, who, at the least, offer moral support in just about any situation.
- novel and slightly dangerous situations are great father/son bonding moments

Need now to re-assess the critter situation for next steps.

Must add two more, which seem obvious, after the fact
- do not wear your casual sport/tennis shoes, WEAR YOUR MUCK BOOTS!!!!!
- if you have office and outdoor eyeglasses, wear the outdoor set
