for future reference, the heavy duty garbage bags the big thick black contractor style ones are generally used by those of us in the "skunk buisness" as protection, theyll take the bite of spray and are easily hosed off with baking soda and vinegar afterwards (which realy does help with smell)

the key to skunks is to stay infront of it...it cant spray you if your not on the buisness end and a black covering over the trap is a big help. i tend to keep any trap set in an area with known skunks covered from the moment i set them.
also talk to them...
it might sound weird, and doesnt realy help wiht a stressed trapped skunk...
but skunks have HORRIBLE eye sight...most people get sprayed because the skunk gets suprised and feels threatend...if you make noise, (jingle bells are great for dogs and cats collars) they can better establish not only that your comming but form which direction. also no sudden movments, again very bad eyesight and sudden movments tend to make them a little skitzo! lol

Notice, she chimes in now after you've been sprayed, and the skunk is free!

Yeah. :p :D

I pretty much had everything handled as she described. Used landscaping fabric triple folded, because I didn't have any heavy plastic. Could barely smell what misted onto the shirt.

It's all good.

DS's team loses in 7 innings today, 8-4 in the divisional championship game. :(

The other team was tough (undefeated) and hit the ball harder than any other team we faced this season. Our boys had them on the ropes the whole game, even after giving up 6 runs in the fourth inning with two outs. The boys got glove leather on 5 batted balls in the inning, any one of which that could ended the inning, including a screaming liner that almost hit DS in the head :)barnie he almost had it!), but they just couldn't seal the deal. A blown suicide squeeze and 4 stupid base running errors didn't help our scoring chances, either. (DS went 1-2 with a double and a sacrifice).

The boys did awesome, though, we are very proud of them, 14-3 on the season and the only two teams they lost to this season are on their way to the next round at regionals.

So sorry to hear that. But, they did good and you have every right to be proud of your son.

Always! Only downside is that one of the kids is moving to Texas next month. He and my son have been best friends for over 8 years. :hit

Awww :( That bites!

All of my friends live far from me.

I don't really know how to make friends so I've been here 1.5 years and have made one new friend (from CNA class) lol.
