I don't think the ACTUAL root canal is nearly as bad as ANTICIPATING the root canal.
You may be right about that! I'm glad I really like my dentist but that would have me anxious anyway.
Thanks for the pickle name. There was a lot to search through!

I told my dentist that part of the reason I go to visit him is that I feel like if I needed to I could beat him up and run away! :ep

He just laughs at that. He is a VERY gentle and understanding person, and a great talent with his trade as well. I used to be truly PHOBIC of the dentist and this guy has just about got me over that.

Still.. I can think of LOTS of things I'd rather do!
Yep, I've been there too. After that traumatic wisdom tooth extraction. It took years and then the wonderful dentist who got me over it adopted a baby and stopped practicing. It took another couple of years for me to find another one that I liked as much. She's well established in the community with older children so I think she's here to stay for a good long while. I don't think I could beat her up though. She's pretty tough!
That reminds me of the hygenist from the dentist office we went to when I was a kid. She looked like the mom from the Little House on the Prairie TV show, but we called her the tooth Nazi. She was brutal when she cleaned our teeth. :/

Oh, farm! So sorry about the root canal! :barnie How horrible! I can think of nothing that I hate more than going to the dentist....well, maybe a few things, but not many. I don't numb well and have often to sit there and have a procedure done without it being numb. This has made me ultra-shy of dental work also. I can sympathize!

Wouldn't you know that I was blessed with bad teeth! Half of my family have wonderful, straight, never got a cavity teeth and the other half got the snaggle tooth, weak enamel teeth.

Prayers for a quick and painless root canal are going out to you right now! :hugs

FF, sorry about your turkey. At least the meat won't be wasted.

Did you get the pickles done, huh . . . huh . . . huh? I hope they turned out good for you.

Too bad about the turkey....funny....I got home today at 4:30 and there was a hawk inside my covered run! And a dead and partially eaten chick. Yikes. That was a first. I got some pix of the hawk so I can identify it later. It exhausted itself trying to escape the pen and will likely die (here's hoping, I couldn't bring myself to "do the deed!" :/ )

With all the care we take to keep our critters safe, there is still the maddening loss.

Just had a friend who had her whole backyard flock (12 hens) wiped out. The pen is covered and the wire dug into the ground. They have no idea how something got in. It certainly wasn't a dog, the only space a critter could maybe have got in through is very small. Maybe a weasel, though that's rare here.

I envy your peaches. Someday I will be brave enough to can food!
