Great pictures, FF!

I think some of the costumes I've seen at Ren Fest are very creative and beautiful; I like the more realistic ones best. Congratulations on winning a prize for yours!

Your costume is great!! You look like you just stepped through a time-warp or something.

I have been having problems with numbness in both of my feet for the past couple of months. When I went to my regular doctor about two months ago to get blood work done (my meds require consistent monitoring), I mentioned it to him. He was pretty sure it was the arthritis swelling my feet and causing the numbness.

The arthritis specialist DOES NOT agree. He said that arthritis should not be the cause of the numbness. He was VERY aggravated at my internist suggesting that even. He asked me multiple times about being diabetic and family history of diabetes, but I have none and the full blood profiles that I have been getting every TWO months should have been showing that if it was present. Next he mumbled something about Lupus. Finally he set up an appointment for me to see a neurologist. He says the numbness is a symptom of some kind of nerve damage and the neurologist will be doing a series of tests to try to find the root cause. :barnie

So great - now my specialist is recommending a specialist!! :th
Does the numbness feel just like your feet have fallen asleep when you try to walk on them? I had those symptoms years ago along with some others. Doctors found no lupus, no diabetes, no arthritis. The neurologist ran a ton of tests....and found no nerve damage, nothing wrong. He suggested I up my vit B12 intake to 2000 mg a day. He said the symptoms could be stress-related. I started the B12 intake amounts he recommended and the symptoms went away within weeks after I stopped seeing him. Although I can't really say why.

I *was* under a lot of stress, as a number of things were going on at the time. I had a high stress, on-call 24/7, career, I was in the process of losing a lot of weight (my infamous 150 lbs), our ds was finishing up university in SC, and my dh and I were already working on the move back to Ohio, so dh was living and working in Ohio while I was still in Texas.

I hope you are able to get some help, FF; it's hard to feel good when your body is fighting you. :hugs

I picked more Rattlesnake green beans tonight, enough for a couple of good meals, and gave them to my BIL so I don't have to deal with them right now. Then I picked a couple of squash and a big bag full of tomatoes! Some are riper than others, so the green ones can just spend a little time on my table in a plastic basket.

The four-plex which is in front of my big garden is now stating to team with children. Four little girls in three different houses! They were playing in the drive chasing bubbles, but when I passed by to go pick tonight they all asked if they could help! I spend ALL day at school surrounded by needy kids and my garden is my sanctuary ... my place for peace. So of course I said "YES" and after asking their respective adults I had a platoon of pickers. :gig

My tomatoes are trellised on concrete reinforcing mesh wire fences with 8 foot T posts holding it up in 50 foot rows and with THICK mulch between the rows, so picking was easy even for those little beginners. I gave a lesson about holding the stem with one hand and twisting the tomato till it comes off. (Heritage tomatoes have stubborn stems!) Then they walked with me on my "little path" as one called it and took turns picking the ripe ones. When we got back to the apartments I let each one choose either one big tomato or two little ones. They had a good time. :)
It sounds like you made their day! And probably put that seed of gardening into their lives too! How rewarding! :clap

The vast majority of people in the US are vitamin depleted, and the B vitamins are one of the most common depletions. Symptoms are vague and hard to diagnose, and doctors are just not taught this stuff (follow the money, again! Big Pharma!) Use a high-quality B-Complex, it is an easy way to find out if this is the issue. B vitamins work together, so a complex will be more efficient than a "one trick pony."

The B's also help with maintaining quality of sleep (not so much with falling asleep, but with maintaining it) and waking up with less grogginess. It can also help with mild depression and SADD. Plus lots more. Even if it is not the issue for your feet, it is a case of "can't hurt, might help!" And it is hard to overdose on B vitamins, since you pee them out. Your morning pee should be bright yellow when you are taking B's.

Some people have variations in genes that regulate how efficiently their body utilizes various vitamins/minerals, and if you are one (I am) then you will need to supplement for optimal health, even with a great diet.

I really hope this is your issue.....it would be so simple!
