i'll be the one to say it:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

i'd feel a little smirky if i were you - you have the entire summer off! rarely in your life do you get a break from a work-a-day world so enjoy every single moment. "farm poor" rocks and you'll have plenty to do...we'll make sure of it.

and just in case you need it - here's some motivation for ya, baby.. its my story about how i "won" the lay off lottery and had a "price is right" moment:

you'll be just fine. dont wait to sign up for unemployment even if you are getting a severance. and dont sign anything while you are still in shock. remember that everything in negotiable

I am sorry for your situation. Unexpected shockers seem to be the norm now a days. It seems you have a great attitude about it though.

really, honey, you'll be ok. just let it wash over you... you'll have time later to think it all out. just roll with it.

and give yourself 3 days to lay on the couch... you can even eat bonbons.... then get up! we have work to do!

:)

At least you are in a FAR better place to cope than a non Sufficient Self would be. :hugs There will be trying times ahead, but things will work out for the best in the long haul. :)

We are in a better place for sure, there are some folks up to their eyeballs in credit cards and loans etc. Living high on the hog! They'll feel it alot more than we will.

I'm rolling things around in my head, I don't want to jump at something too soon, but I don't want to miss a good chance to do something I want to do either.

For the longest time I've thought how cool it would be to have my own little shop, I live in a tiny little town, pop. 200 or less. So I'm not exactly sure how well a little artsy crafty store will go over.
There is an empty building in town, I asked the owner about it yesterday. I just need to think clearly and not be stupid about it.

You are such a talented person. Your little shop may be just the way to go, but in a town of 200, it might not go far. But with the internet, the world is your shop, so to speak.

You're right, too. Take your time, go slowly, eat your bonbons - if a shop is the right way to go, you'll know it.
:hugs and good luck wishes to you.
