A month from sheep to yarn to clothing? :th

Can we have pics of the recent project, too?

What is considered "short" staple vs "long" staple in inches?

We've never had a fiber artist represented at our gallery until recently. Dobree Adams just started showing her work with us -I kept rubbing my hands over it. They are tapestry wall hangings woven on a loom. Sizes are approximately 30" x 60". The detail doesn't show up well in the website pics but they are just beautiful.

She had a flock of lincoln longwools and did everything in these pieces from start to finish. I thought you might enjoy.

We asked her how long it took to create one and she said, oh, about 30 years! She no longer has her flock but still has wool from them.

I have been watching you tube videos and trying to learn to spin. there are no workshops on spinning around here. I washed my fleeces, am using stiff dog slicker brushes to card and the spinning part of a broken spinning wheel as a drop spindle. So far i have spun about 100 yards of yarn and am crocheting it into a lap blanket and I still have a LOT more wool left to go. It takes forever though! My second bunch of yarn I forgot to tie into sections before setting the spin and ended up with a tangled mess that took forever to get straightened out!

I wish I had a loom! Those are beautiful! I love the natural colors!
