Our early Daffodils are finished blooming as well as the Dutch Hyacinths and Crocus.

But the Dogwoods and Redbuds are out in full glory, in our woods! We have Grape Hyacinths, Ajuga, Verbena (over-wintered in the coldframe, Currants, Bird's-foot and Three-lobed wild violets, Pansies are still blooming...

I love this time of year! :D

Nothing blooming here in NE Ohio except the usual spring stuff. Thanks to the 70-80 temps. Now it is starting to get cold, and I hope everything does not die. A lot of my scented plants are growing, and I am loving the smell from rosemary, dill, chocolate mint, lemon balm, chives, and even parsley!

I'm worried about the peach trees. They bloomed about a month too early thanks to all the warm weather we had. Now, they're calling for temps in the upper 20s, lower 30s for tonight. That could wipe out the majority of the crop.

We have a flowering almond that is blooming. It is special as I took it as a sucker from my Moms garden just before she passed away.

I am enjoying watching what pops up around here. We bought this place in late Summer, so I only saw one planting that was still in bloom. DH is a little unhappy with the previous owners habit of putting clumps of flowers here and there all over the front yard, and in some very strange places in the back yard (he likes an easily mowable yard), but I am watching eagerly for the color after the green!

Sparks - I have some rhubarb that goes everywhere I do. I received one HUGE root from a dear ladies (my SIL's mom) garden after her passing. I am up to nine plants off that one root! My DS#2 thinks the type of rhubarb is 'Mrs. J's" because that is what we always call it!

Our lilac always buds up in February, then we get some cold weather again in March so it holds back until budding up in late April and blooming sometime in June. We also have tulip leaves poking through the soil and some of the perennials have green bits starting to pop up under the mulch of last year's leaves.

But we can get frost well into May here, so Spring is a slow process and we are used to that. :)

I see a bit of flowers no matter what I do because of some of our trees and vegs, but this year DH is wanting lots of marigolds and sunflowers planted to keep the bugs off the vegs, plus I scattered clover seed around after killing the weeds, to use as a cover crop, to make the bees happy and to use as animal feed when we done with the growing season. I think it will look nice too.
