i'm pretty sure those containers are plugged in to keep them cool otherwise they'd be rotten after just a day sitting in those southern hotter ports.

The issue is limited space at all the potential storage locations in the transit pipeline. A lot of the process depends on the large volume of containers moving along quickly.

yes, a lot of things have become JIT (just in time), which doesn't work so well when things get disrupted...

Update -- the Dollar General stores have been sent HUGE shipments of TP to stores. Now they have no room for it and the public is overstocked, so less buying.
