Food prices June 2021

Yeah...tell FB I'll have more chicks this spring! My BYH will give me a couple broodies, I'll add eggs, pen them and hatch. Adding some Barred Rock, too. Would love to buy eggs to hatch but, may go with chicks. Haven't bought eating eggs in maybe 15 yrs.

I probably don't use 2 dz eggs a yr but DD & DGD use that a week. . My chickens do clean up for me around the barns.

She has 4 barred rocks, I like them, they tend to stay where they are put, not fence jumpers. They are good and tame, friendly even. Each one is named hennie or henny <--- (boy ain't battling with auto correct just a wonderful thing).

Our food bank where I volunteer, stopped buying eggs from the wholesaler three weeks ago. We've gotten some complaints that we always give out eggs....not any longer, dear client!

Business Center didn't have eggs Saturday. Regular Costco didn't either when we were there yesterday.

I got my new egg cartons yesterday. Nice to not have the eggs rattle in the big carton anymore. The bantam cartons take up less space, too. Silkies have picked up laying with the extra light.

When we give eggs away we always tell them to water test. My neighbor has a friend that I sometimes gives eggs to. He could never remember the water test. The last time I told him, I said dead fish float, same with bad eggs. Now he doesn't ask anymore.

2 weeks max here. Usually less. At that point they become protection payments to the local ravens.

I’m building what’s supposed to be a temporary coop for meat chickens, I pick up chicks February 19. But I may be tempted to get some sex link chicks when the CCX go out. Maybe.

i turn that stuff off, i'm dyslexic and messed up enough some times that such attempts by such programs just get way too much in the way of a trainwreck in progress anyways so why make it worse and take even longer? (i can type fairly quickly, but i may also make a ton of mistakes, there were at least sixty in this mess alone )...
