Why is it that the only lawmaker able to read between the lines is the one lampooned the most? :idunno
Because he is the contrary. He is not afraid to speak his mind, no matter how "insane" it seems to the rest, who only believe what they read.

Because I am low income, I recently had an energy audit and weatherization of my home for free. I got 10 CFL free. They are supposed to last 11 years.

I also got low flow showerheads (took the flow restrictors out)n aeratorsm a carbon monoxide monitor, a new refrigerator, new doors, double pane windows, heater and A/C servicing, and am scheduled now to have insulation blown into my attic (got my leaks repaired) to bring this old crummy house up from R2 to R30.

You might want to check with your counties and see if they have programs like these. I know this one is local, but when I was checking in to it, I found references to similar programs in many other states.

That's the way it is around here, too. My brother got a free energy audit, and he is definitely not low income. A landlord he knows got a lot of things retrofitted in his building free of charge, just to save energy. Thankfully, Sylvie, your company may be a fluke.

I read a lot about Kucinich back then, too! He was very intriguing with some excellent ideas. It made me sorry that politics is such a huge and lumbering machine that doesn't work so great for really big changes...

I neglected to mention that the bulbs are made in China, due to the fact that none are made here.

This in our news today about our electric company sending everyone two cf bulbs, charging $10.80 each and adding the fee to our electric bill. This is their idea of a compliant green program to reduce energy. It looks more like a hefty green profit. There is no op out to the program. The bulbs are not free.

and a response:

:somad :tongue
Go onto their website and search the program. There must be a way to opt out--there usually is something. Just a shot but look up the program on their website and see if you can find that loophole.

yea cruddy deal big time!

Well, well! News said our Governor stepped in and requested the forced CFL bulb program be suspended. First Energy relented.

I like him too. I was hoping he would get the nomination, but he was kind of like Ron Paul was on the other side. Too far to the left.

That sounds like part of the stimulus package. A lot of people complained about that. I thought it was a great idea. Especially if the houses in question were having their heat subsidized.

PUCO for us regular people means = POCO = POwer COmpany. Very few CFL's will last 11 years, more like five years the way we run them at best. The power company in Wisconsin gave us 12 cfl bulbs for 12 dollars, since 2004 they are all still working good. Charging $11 per bulb is a raping and you should call the PSC.

Tell your power company that you already have CLF's in every socket and want a refund. This sure sounds like a class action law suit.
