Framingfowl,Happy for you, and yes our God is an awesome God.
The hours maybe hard on you, but just remember what you will accomplish with the money. When it gets hard and the hours get long, make this your mattra--debt free-debt free.

Good luck

Thanks Lala & Deb! It will be changes for sure.

This morning I headed to a garage sale that had canning jars listed. They were gone already but I scored on a ball water bath canning kit with 12 new packages of lids! (I didn't have a water bath canner and was using my pressure canner for everything.) And got 4 6" c-clamps and a pipe clamp for MyT Man!

Out in the garden I pulled out the tomatillos, cherry and grape tomatoes. Planted the spinach, lettuce, and carrots. Now I'm putting in The Overton Window on CD on the player and gearing up for applesauce round 2!!

It's one of those good news/bad news days.

Good news: 18 more quarts of applesauce done this weekend...
Bad news: didn't finish the tomatoes

Good news: started the new job today and set my own hours until it officially opens
Bad news: fighting with the IRS over something from 2006.

Just finished 3 qts and 1 pt of tom. sauce. Neighbors called earlier and said "I've got something for you at the back fence." So I went out there and they had 4 cabbage and 3 lettuce plants for me. Don't ask me why they gave me lettuce plants from the nursery 'cuz I know they know how to grow their own but hey... it's free!

good and bad again tonight.
Bad: Looks like due to a mistake by our bookkeeper for the business 4 years ago, we do owe $$$ to the IRS.

Good: MIL didn't renew our Reader's Digest subscription but got us MEN instead for our annual magazine gift!

Somehow though, it doesn't seem like the good outweighs the bad today. :/

:hugs My parents went through a very painful IRS situation at the hands of my uncle and his wife....they ended up having to take out a second mortgage on their house to pay it off. So much for trusting family with business stuff. It'll get better.... :hugs

oh no on the irs thing! but if there is an upside its that this is the best (!?!?) time to negotiate with them. see if you can get time with an atty to see if there are other options. at the least you'll be able to get a payment plan.

sorry
:-(

As far as the IRS, we figure it's not worth fighting with them other than having penalties and fees removed so it's paid and we're moving on! I just hope nothing else from that far back comes back to haunt us. I checked with our current CPA and it looks like there shouldn't be any other biggies.

Tomorrow night I'm making a birthday dinner for our neighbors. L turns 72 and J is leaving on Wed for a week of fishing up in Michigan with the guys. With my new job starting, it might be the last best time to get together for awhile. It should be fun! I'm going to serve some homemade applesauce because they freeze all of their apples. I'm hoping to tempt them into trading me fresh salmon for applesauce when J gets back!

Reorganized the pantry and logged everything today. That was a good feeling. I'm going to start on some coleslaw and pot. salad for dinner tomorrow night and have to figure out desert. Probably just brownies and ice cream. We also got the sides of our building put up. Now it's just up to MyT Man to secure it all the way and put the metal on the roof. Then we'll have to get a couple of neighbors to help us lift the roof on.

New job starts officially tomorrow... we'll see how it goes. I tried to come up with a schedule but there are a lot of unknowns right now.
